<br /> On motion of Councilman McBride, seconded by Jerome and carried, Map
<br /> of Tract No. 2089, submitted by Donald B. Ckristeson, was approved
<br /> for the dedication of Memory Lane, Sherwin Lane, Leonard Lane, Freeman
<br /> Lane, Lowell Lane, and Olive Lane, subject to the filing of a satis-
<br /> factory bond to have included within the coverage "drainage ditches",
<br /> and the agreement covering improvements was ordered signed.

<br /> On motion of Councilman McBride, seconded by Larsen and carried, Map
<br /> of Tract No. 1790., submitted by Meyer-Nash and Associates, a co-
<br /> partnership composed of GEorge S. Fruehling, John H. Lows, Stanley E.
<br /> Nash. and HenrY D. Meyer, was approved for the dedication of Eastside
<br /> Avenue, Wright Street and Patricia Lane, subject to the revision of
<br /> the bond to the satisfaction of the City Attorney, and the agreement
<br /> covering improvements was Ordered signed.

<br /> Communication was read from the County of Orange advising that the
<br /> County Tax Collector will sell at public auction Lot 23, Block C of
<br /> Tract 233, and Lot ~, Block 12 of Tract 560, located on Oak Street
<br /> between St. Gert'rude Place and Anahurst, and on the southwest corner
<br /> of Artesia and WeSt Myrtle Street. On motion of Councilman. McBride,
<br /> seconded by Jero~e and carried, the Clerk was instructed to notify
<br />· ~he Tax Collectog that.the City consents to the sale of such property. II
<br />Cemmunication was read from George L. Adix, 1126 Orange Avenue, pro-.
<br />testing the dry weeds and trash on lot located on the northwes$ corner!
<br />of Orange and McFadden Street, and on motion of Councilman Jerome,
<br />seconded by Larsen and carried, the communication was received and
<br />filed as the matter has been taken care of by the Fire Department.

<br /> On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by McBride and carried,the
<br /> claim of Homer L. Haney, in the sum of $20,000.00, for alleged inJurie
<br /> sustained when he stepped on the edge of a hole which had been allowed
<br /> to remain in the sidewalk, at 1305 West Fourth Street, was referred to
<br /> the Attorney and Insurance Carrier.

<br /> At the request Of the Purchasing Agent and on motion of Councilman
<br /> Larsen, seconded by Jerome and carried, the Clerk was authorized to
<br /> advertise for bids for the furnishing of rock and plant mix for the
<br /> repaying of Third Stree$ from Ross to Spurgeon Streets; bids to be
<br /> opened July 6th, 1954.

<br /> to secure permits for the sale of fireworks at stands to be located

<br /> the corner of Fairview and Bristol and at 2059 South Main Street, due

<br />request was granted subject to the approval of the Fire Department
<br />Conununication was read from L.M.Guyon stating that the Police Depart-
<br />ment is continuing to furnish motor escort service for the mortuaries
<br />and requesting information as to whether there is a law preventing a
<br />municipality competing in business with a private enterprise. On
