Kate Sutton <br />(parking) <br /> <br />In Re <br />~equest <br /> & SMtce. & Const. <br /> driveways) <br /> <br />In Re <br />Petition <br />"San~a Ana Gardens <br />Annexation" <br /> <br /> The Manager .reported. that the bid of Electric Supplies Distributing <br /> Company, for the furnishing of electric lamps, is the lowest and beet <br /> bid and meets the specifications of the City and of the Federal <br /> Government. On'motion of Councilman Lateen, seconded by Dahl and <br /> carried, the recommendation was approved and contract awarded to the <br /> Electric Supplies Distributing Company, all other bids rejected, check <br /> ordered returned and proper officials authorized to execute contract. <br /> The Manager recommended that the bid of the Santa Aha Independent be <br /> accepted for the publication of legal notices and other matters <br /> required by law to be published, for the fiscal year beginning July <br /> let, 1954 and ending June 30th, 1955. On motion of CounCilman Dahl, <br /> seconded by Jerome and carried, the recommendation was approved'and <br /> contract awarded to the Santa Ana Independent and all other bids <br /> <br /> rejected. <br />.# <br /> <br /> The Manager requested confirmation of the appointments of the follow- <br /> ing Service Chiefs and Alternates in accordance with the provisions <br /> of Resolution No. 4081, Oivil Defense and Disaster Resolution, and Tab <br /> "C" of the City of Santa Aha Civil Defense and Disaster Plan: <br /> <br /> Communications Service: ~Chief - James J. Johnston Alternate- Ronald Anderson <br /> <br />Warden Service: Chief - Willis V Harris <br /> Alternate- Robert E~ Wilkerson <br /> Alternate- Frank C Pope, Jr. <br /> <br /> On motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by Larsen and carried, the <br /> appointments were approved. <br /> <br /> On recommendation of ~he Manager and on motion of Councilman Dahl, <br /> seconded by Jerome and carried, the following Resolution entitled: <br /> <br /> "Resolution No. 54-92 establishing the procedures <br /> for advertising and opening sealed bids" <br /> <br /> was considered and passed by the following vote: <br /> <br /> Ayes, Councilmen William Jerome, J.L.McBride, <br /> Thomas F. Larsen, Milford W. Dahl, <br /> Courtney R. Chandler <br /> Noes, Councilmen None <br /> Absent, Councilmen None <br /> <br />On recommendation of the Manager and on motion of Councilman McBride, <br />seconded by Larsen and carried, the request of Mrs. Kate Sutton, 209 <br />West Cubbon Street, reference relief from the all-day parkers in fron' <br />of her residence, was denied and the Manager instructed to write a <br />letter to Mrs. Sutton explaining the reasons for the denial of the <br /> <br />request.' <br /># <br />On recommendation of the Manager and on motion of Councilman D .~hl, <br />seconded by Jerome and carried, the request of M and S Maintenance and <br />Construction for permission to construct three 33' driveways at pro- <br />posed service station to be located on West l?th Street, at the en~ of <br />King Street between Er~lish Street and Towner Manufacturing Company, <br /> <br />was granted. <br />, <br />On motion of Councilman Dabl, seconded by Jerome and carried, the <br />petition for consent to the commencement of annexation proceedings of <br />inhabited territory south and west of the City, designated "Santa Aha <br />Gardens Annexation", signed by Seth J. Harrelson and dated June 21st, <br />1954, was received and filed. <br /> <br /> <br />
