(See Minutes July 6th, 1954) In Re Prohibition of septic tanks.or ~esspools In Re Monies received from County Sanitation Districts 2 and 3 On motion of Councilman Lateen, seconded by McBride and carried, the matter of the annexation designated "Santa Ana Gardens", was submitted to the Council~as alwhole to take under advisement. ,, Communication was read from the Attorney advising that the letter from The Salvation Army contains all of the information required by the Code provisions, and recommended that a Continuing Special License be considered. On motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by Lsu~sen and carried, the Continuing Special License for use of public place or way was granted. On motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by McBride and carried, the Ordinance amending Section 9116 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code to increase the fees on variances and zone changes, as prepared by the Attorney, was referred to the Planning Commission in order ~hat a public hearing may be held. Michael Garcia, 2118 Maple Street, owner of property on West 8th Stree' between Hawley and King Streets stated that septic tanks are in use in the area and requested that the City install a sewer system. On motion of Councilman McBride, seconded by Dahl and carried, the matter was referred to the Manager and Acting Director of Public Works to determine if it is possible for the City to construct a sewer system on West 8th Street between Hawley and King Streets. On motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by Lateen and carried, proper officials were authorized to execute agreement dated June 21st, .1954, between the City and the Orange County Peace Officers Association, Inc , providing for the use of the target range facilities at the tr~aining center located on Struck Avenue Just east of the Santa Ana River. ~ It was moved by Councilman McBride, seconded by Dahl and carried, that the question of amending Chapter 5, Section 7500 of the Municipal Code be referred to the Chief Building Inspector, Attorney and Acting Director of Pu61ic Works to consider prohibition of septic tanks or cesspools in the City. The Manager recommended that the amount of $139,112.10 received from the County Sanitation Districts 2 and 3 for prepayment on Term Agreement for purchase and sale of sewtge facilities be held in suspense until . July let and be recorded as a revenue for the fiscal year 1955-55 and that such revenue be distributed as follows: $121,437.10 be allocated to Fund 62 City Hall Acquisition and Construction and that the remaind r of $17,675.00 be allocated in various amounts to the Bond Interest and Redemption Funds in accordance with the Budget to be adopted for the fiscal year 195~-55. It was moved by Councilman Lateen, seconded by Dahl and carried, that the recommendation of the Manager be approved. On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Dahl and carried, the City 1954, at 7:30 P.M., in the Council adjourned to Monday, June 28th, Council Chamber.
