Peace <br />Officers Assoc. <br /> (See Minutes <br />June 28, 195~) <br /> <br />In Re <br />Request <br />Michael Garcia <br />(sewer system) <br /> <br />In Re <br />Prohibition of <br />septic tanks or <br />cesspools <br /> <br />In Re <br />Communication' <br />Latta & Company <br /> <br />127 <br /> <br /> On motion of Councilman Dshl, seconded by McBride and carried, the <br /> request of Angeles and Bill Bohlen for permission to conduct public <br /> dances, to be preceded by a period of instruction of basic dance steps <br /> on Friday and Saturday nights, at Markel Hall, 1436 South Main Street, <br /> was granted, at a license fee of $3.00 per quarter, as provided for in <br /> Section 6200.19 of the Santa Aha Municipal Code. <br /> <br /> On motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by McBride and carried, the <br /> request of Mrs. M.L.Dean, Chairman, Mission President, Second Baptist <br /> Church, to conduct a Tag Day July 9th and 10th, or July 16th and 17th, <br /> was referred to the Chamber of Commerce and Business Menls Association <br /> for recommendation and Clerk instructed to advise Mrs. Dean that the <br /> application did not contain sufficient information and the time elemeE <br /> did not permit of sufficient investigation. <br /> <br /> Communication was read from the D~partment of Public Works advising <br /> that improvements within Tra~t No. 1804 have been completed, and on <br /> motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Larsen and carried, bond file~ <br /> by Bristol Development Co. Inc., in the sum of $26,500.00, was ordered <br /> <br /> released and improvements accepted as completed. <br /> . <br /> On motion of Councilman Jerome~ seconded by McBride and carried, the <br /> application of Jeanne Doganiere, to drive taxicabs, was received, <br /> filed and permit granted. <br /> <br /> On motion of Councilmau Jerome, seconded by Dahl and carried, proper <br /> revised <br /> officials were authorized to execute/agreement dated July 6~h, 1954, <br /> <br /> between the ~City and the Orange County Peace Officers Association, Inc., <br /> providing for the use of the target range facilities at the training <br /> center located on Struck Avenue Just east of the Santa Aha River. <br /> <br /> The Manager reported in regard to the construction of a sewer system <br /> on West 8th Street between Hawley and King Streets, reference the oral <br /> request of Michael Garcia and recommended that the City continue its <br /> present practice regulations and the City assist in the installation <br /> of a sewer in this area only on the existing program whereby the full <br /> payment for the sewer is carried by the private person but the City <br /> will enter into an agreement with the contractors to insure the payment <br /> of the front footage cost, within a ten year period, to hook onto the <br /> sewer. On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Larsen and carrie~ <br /> the recommendation was approved. <br /> <br /> The Manager reported in regard to the septic tanks and recommended that <br /> the Attorney be instructed to prepare an amendment to the pertinent <br /> <br /> Code Section requiring that whenever any portion of the property to be <br /> <br /> developed for occupancy is within 2001 of an existing sewer line that <br /> ow~qer of <br />_ /said property be made to connect to the sanitary sewer. On motion of <br /> <br /> Councilman Jerome, seconded by Larsen and carried, the recommendation <br /> was approved. <br /> <br /> The Manager reported in regard to the request of Latta and Company that <br /> the Council adopt a Resolution recommending approval of Senate Con- <br /> 23, which concerns the welfare of ocean-goingl <br /> stitutional <br /> Amendment <br /> No. <br /> <br /> vessels of California Registry and recommended that the Council take <br /> ii <br /> <br /> <br />
