Chandler <br />None <br /> <br /> Each member of the City Council having received copies of the Minutes <br /> of July 6th, 1954, reading of the MinuSes was dispensed with and approved <br /> on motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Larsen and carried, with the <br /> exception of Item 7, Page 121, wherein art a~ditional condition was ~m~ttted <br /> on the variance application of the H. T. Foust Estate, as follows: Shat the <br /> east side of Broadway extended to Delhi Road be dedicated for street purposes <br /> and improved to City standards. <br /> ,, <br />In Re This being the date set for hearing on the amendment application of <br />Hearing <br />i Reclassify property <br />~West side Bristol Bt. <br />btn Delhi Road and <br /> <br />IEdinger St. <br />~Sunny Homes, Inc. <br /> Ordinance <br /> <br />Sunny Homes, Incorporated, no protests were received, for the re- <br />classification of property situated northwest of the center line of <br />the intersection of Delhi Read and B~ristol Street, containing approx- <br />imately 21.2 acres, from the R-1 District to the R-3 and C-2 District <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Dahl and carried, the <br /> <br />following Ordinance entitled: <br /> <br />"Ordinance amending Article IX of the Santa Ana <br />Municipal Code cresting changes in district <br />boundaries and amending Sheet No. 36 of the <br />districSing map to show the reclassification" <br /> <br />In Re <br />Hearing <br />Reclassify property <br />south side of <br />Washington btn <br />Lincoln and Grand <br />Charles C. Cam~aSa <br />Ordinance <br /> <br />was introduced, considered and placed on file for second reading. <br />This being the date set for hearing on the amendment application of <br />Charles C. Camarata for the reclassification of property located on <br />the south side of Washington Avenue between Lincoln and Grand Avenues <br />1126 East Washington Avenue, from the R-1 and R-2 Districts to the M-2 <br />District, Attorney James Walker, representing Mrs. R.J.Armstrong, 902 <br />Grand Avenue, presented petitions signed by approximately forty <br />residents or owners of properties within two or three blocks of the <br /> <br />property to be rezoned, protesting the rezoning. Mr. Walker stated <br />the property should not be rezoned by amendment :application but shoulc <br />be handled by variance application and the rezo~ing would constitute <br />an invasion of the area zoned for R-1 and R-2. Also, the reason there <br /> <br />are so many objectors is the fact that this is the most easterly prop- <br />erty thus far sought to be reclassified into industrial use and <br /> <br />encroaches upon a true residential area on Grandi Avenue. Mrs. Arm- <br /> <br />strong emphasized the fact that a buffer zone isl needed for protection <br />iaga~nst' encroachment to the west, t~is being the gateway to all of <br />that residential area, and if an unsightly condition exists on Grand <br /> <br /> <br />
