RESOLUTION 70-72 APPROVING MAP AND DECLARING <br />INTENTION TO VACATE SHERWOOD STREET AT MAPLE <br />STREET AND GIVING NOTICE OF HEARING THEREON <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, a request for the vacation of Sherwood Street at <br />Maple Street has been received by the City Council, and the <br />Department of Public Works and the Planning Commission have <br />recommended that a public hearing be set on the question of said <br />vacation; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council <br />hereby approve~ the map attached hereto and orders the same filed <br />with the original of this Resolution in the office of the Clerk <br />of the Council and reference is hereby made to said map for the <br />exterior boundaries of said right of way proposed to be vacated; <br /> <br /> The City Council declares its intention to proceed under <br />the provisions of the Street Vacation Act of 1941 (Sections 8300 <br />through 8374 of the california Streets and Highways Code) to vacate <br />Sherwood Street east of Main Street. Said right of way proposed to <br />be vacated lies in the City of Santa A/la, County of Orange, State <br />of california, and is described as follows: <br /> <br />Parcel 1: The southerly 30.00 feet of that portion of the <br />southwest quarter of Section 30, Township 5 South, Range 9 <br />West, in the land allotted to James McFadden, in the city of <br />Santa Ana, as described in the Final Decree of Partition of <br />the Rancho Santiago de Santa Ana, which was entered September <br />12, 1868 in Book "B", Page 410 of Judgments of the District <br />Court of the 17th Judicial District in and for Los Angeles <br />County, California, described as follows: <br /> <br />Beginning at the Southwest corner of Section 30, Township 5 <br />South, Range 9 West, San Bernardino Base and Meridian, and <br />running thence North 0" 39' 45" East 1158.04 feet; thence <br />South 88" 52' 00' East 1023.00 feet to the true point of <br />beginning; thence South 88" 52' 00" East 267.00 feet; thence <br />South 0" 39' 45" West 169.70 feet; thence North 88" 55' 45" <br />West 267.00 feet; thence North 0" 39' 45" East 169.99 feet to <br />the true point of beginning. <br /> <br />Parcel 2: A spandrel shaped parcel of land over that portion <br />of said Southwest Quarter of Section 30 bounded Easterly by the <br />Northerly extension of the East line of Parcel 1 above described, <br />bounded Southerly by the North line of said Parcel 1, and Northwest- <br />erly by the arc of a curve concave Northwesterly having a radius <br />of 15.00 feet and tangent to said Easterly and Southerly boundaries. <br /> <br />Parcel 3: The Northerly 30.00 feet of that portion of said South- <br />west quarter of Section 30, described as follows: <br /> <br />Beginning at the Southwest corner of said Section 30; thence <br />North 0° 39' 45" East 986.94 feet; thence South 88" 55' 45" East <br />1023.00 feet to the true point of beginning; thence South 88° 55' <br />45" East 267.00 feet; thence South 0" 39' 45" West 169.70 feet; <br />thence North 88° 59' 30" West 200.00 feet; thence South 0" 39' 45" <br />West 169.67 feet; thence North 88" 59' 30" West 133.00 feet; <br />thence North 0" 39' 45" East 170.06 feet; thence South 88" 59' 30" <br />East 66.00 feet; thence North 0" 39' 45" East 169.98 feet to the <br />true point of beginning. <br /> <br />-1- <br /> <br /> <br />
