Edison Co. <br />Bills for service <br />rendered'after <br />Sept. 13, 1954 <br /> <br />In Re <br />Advertise for bids <br />Automobiles and <br />motorcycles for <br />Police Dept. <br /> <br />In Re <br />Salary <br />increases <br /> <br />In Re <br />Request <br />South Main Improvement <br />Association; Manager's <br />oral report <br /> <br />In Re <br />Petition <br />(install stop <br />signs) <br /> <br /> On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Larsen and carried, the <br /> communication from the Principal, Senior High School expressing <br /> appreciation for the installation of traffic controls at Camile and <br /> <br /> Ross Streets and Camile and Patton Streets, was received and filed. <br /> Communication was read from the Department of Public Works advising <br /> that improvements within Tract No. 172~ have been completed, and on <br /> motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Dahl and carried, bond filed by <br /> Lansdale Construction Company, in the sum of $149,252.45, was ordered <br /> <br /> released and improvements accepted as completed. <br /> # <br /> <br /> Communication was read from Santa Ana-Tustin Community Chest request- <br /> ing permission to place pole cards on light standards throughout the <br /> shopping area from September 25th through November 27th. On motion <br /> of Councilman Jerome, seconded by McBride and carried, permission was <br /> granted in accordance with the present policy that the pole cards be <br /> <br /> removed. <br /> # <br /> <br />Communication was read from Southern California Edison Company refer- <br />ence bills for service rendered after September 13th, 1954, to be <br />computed in accordance with the provisions of Schedules A-3, P-1 and <br />H. On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Larsen and carried, <br /> <br />the matter was referred to the Manager for recommendation. <br /> # <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Lateen, seconded by Dahl and carried, the <br />Purchasing Agent was authorized to advertise for the replacement of <br />two automobiles and two motorcycles, for the Police Department; the <br /> <br />motorcycles to be two-wheelers. <br /> # <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Larsen and carried, the <br />written recommendations of the Manager, dated September 15th, 1954 and <br />October 30th, 195~, setting forth the salary step increases for five <br />employees effective October let, 195~, and for five employees effective <br />September let, 195~, were received, filed and approved. <br /> <br />Communication was read from South Main ImProvement Association request- <br />ing that a written report be furnished regarding Progress made and <br />future plans of the Council with regard to widening of South Main <br /> <br />Street from McFadden to Bishop Streets, and that the work be started <br />before the rainy season. On motion of Councilman Larsen, seconded by <br />Jerome and carried, the communication was received and filed. On <br />motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Lateen and carried, the matter <br />was referred to the Manager for oral report. The Manager reported that <br />easement deeds for slightly less than 50% of the total number of parcels <br />of property on South Main Street from Bishop to McFadden, have been <br />obtained. Sixty-three separate parcels of property will be deeded to <br />the City and about thirty parcels have been secured to date; the <br />engineering work is completed, plans and specificstlone are under <br />preparation and will be presented to the Council at the next meeting <br /> <br />for approval. <br /># <br />A petition was read signed by 196 residents of North Broadway Park and <br />vicinity requesting the installation of boulevard stop signs to the <br />east and west of the intersection of North Park Boulevard and <br />Heliotrope Drive and to the east and west of the intersection of <br /> <br /> <br />
