Evans, in the sum of $2,500.00, for personal injuries <br /> sustained in a fall in a ditch and tunnel at 17th Street, near Grand <br /> <br /> Avenue, was received and filed. <br /> # <br /> <br /> On motion of Councilman Larsen, seconded by Jerome and carried, the <br /> authorization for extension of time to March 31st, 1955, from the <br /> Public Utilities Commission, on the application of the City for the <br /> relocation of a crossing and a new crossing over the right-of-way of <br /> the Pacific Electric Railway Company at Orange Avenue Just south of <br /> <br /> Adams Street, was received and filed. <br /> . <br /> On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Larsen and carried, the <br /> <br /> Minutes of the Personnel Board meeting held September 22nd, 195~, were <br /> <br /> received and filed. <br /> . <br /> On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Larsen and carried, the <br /> notification of the State Board of Equalization of alcoholic beverage <br /> application of William K. Boggs, 800 E. Washington Avenue, was received <br /> and filed. <br /> <br /> On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Larsen and carried, the <br /> applications of Jackson Jones'and Douglas F. D~obeck to drive taxicabs, <br /> were received, filed and granted. <br /> <br /> On motion of Councilman Larsen, seconded by Jerome and carried, the <br /> copy of the Resolution adopted by the Retail Division of the Chamber <br /> of Commerce requesting the Council to welcome, offer assistance and <br /> otherwise actively promote reputable retailing department store <br /> <br /> companies to locate their stores in the City, was received and filed. <br /> # <br /> <br />'A petition was read signed by eight persons requesting the immediate <br />placement of a crossing guard at the corner of First Street and Forest <br />Avenue, and on motion of Councilman Larsen, seconded by Jerome and <br /> <br /> carried, the request was referred to the curb usage committee. <br /> # <br /> <br />Preliminary Map submitted by Emmet C.
