On motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded <br /> by Larsen and carried, the recommendation of the Manager was approved <br /> and the 1954-55 Budget was amended as follows: <br /> <br /> 11-552 General Fund <br /> Public Works Department Secondary <br /> Stre.et Maintenance ~104,650.00 <br /> 51-552 General Capital Outlay Fund <br /> Public Works Department, Secondary <br /> Streets 5,300.00 <br /> <br /> On recommendation of the Manaa~er and on motion of Councilman Dahl, <br /> seconded by Jerome and carried, a transfer of monies allocated for <br /> the expenditures in the 195~-55 Budget was authorized covering cost <br /> of the Special Election, consolidated with the General State Election <br /> November 2, 195~, as follows: <br /> City Council Contingency Reserve Fund ll-000 be decr~eased $~,~10.00 <br /> Clerk of the Council Election Fund ll-ll6 be increased $~,410.00. <br /> <br /> On motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by Jerome and carried, the <br /> Resolution of the Santa Ana City Board of Education requesting that <br /> necessary eveps be taken to expedite the bringing of City water to <br /> the nearest point where it will be available for use in the Diamond <br /> Elementary School was received, filed and the Manager authorized to <br /> proceed with the installation of water pipe lines to the School. <br /> <br /> On motion of Councilman Larsen, seconded by Dahl and carried, the <br /> Purchasing Agent was authorized to advertise for bi~s for the widening <br /> of South Main Street from McFadden Street to Bishop Streets; bids to <br /> be opened December 6th, 195~.~ <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by McBride and carried, the <br />written recommendation of the Manager, dated November 12th, 1954, <br />setting forth salary step increases for thirteen employees effective <br />December 1st, 1954 and one employee effective November let, 1954, was <br />received, filed and approved. <br /> <br />Communication was read from Louis Goodman protesting the unsightly <br />condition of Guy's Junk Yard in the 2600 block South Main Street and <br />the storing of Junk in the alley. On motion of Councilman Dahl, <br />seconded by Jerome and carried, the matter wes referred to the Acting <br />Chief of Police for investigation and issuance of citations for any <br />infractions of the law; communication directed to Mr. Goodman advising <br />of investigations made in the past and that the City does not have an <br /> <br />Ordinance controlling stacking or fences around Junk yar~s. <br />,, <br />On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Larsen and carried, the <br />request of Jad{ Fisher Chapter No. 23, Disabled American Veterans for <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Dahi'I ' <br /> <br /> <br />
