Pinnix <br /> <br /> Communications were read from the Planning Commission recommending <br /> granting of.variance to Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, Inc., to <br /> erect a 24' x 50' building of reinforced concrete block, to be used <br /> as a recapping shop, deleting the lO~ rear yard requirement, at 200 <br /> South Main Street, and from the Department of Public Works that <br /> replacement of all broken sidewalks on Walnut Street is needed. On <br /> motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by Larsen and carried, the recom- <br /> mendation of the Planning Commission was approved and variance granted <br /> subject to the conditions as imposed by the Department of Public Works, <br /> On motion of Councilman Larsen, seconded by Dahl and carried, the <br /> recommendation of the Planning Commission was approved and variance <br /> granted to Charles R. Beutel to permit conversion of dwelling on prop- <br /> erty at 1516 North Flower Street, into offices to be used for profess-I <br /> ional purposes, such as doctors, dentists, attorneys, accountants, <br /> engineers, architects, real estate brokers, agents and salesmen, and <br /> other similar business offices where no merchandise is offered for <br /> <br /> sale. <br /> ,, <br /> Communication of the Planning Commission was read submitting Resolution <br /> No. 715 recommending the reclassification of property on the north side <br /> of Fairview Avenue between Bristol and Baker Streets, from the R-1 <br /> District to the."C" District, in accordance with the amendment appli- <br /> cation of E.L.Buffham etal. On motion of Councilman Larsen, seconded <br /> by Jerome and carried, a notice of public hearing was ordered published <br /> setting date of hearing as December 6th, 1954. <br /> <br /> Communication of the Planning Commission was read submitting Resolutlo~ <br /> No. 716 recommending the reclassification of the northerly 125' of <br /> <br /> Lots 4, 5 and 6 of Mabury Tract, situated on the south side of West <br /> 17th Street between College Avenue and English Street, from the R-2 <br /> District to the C-1 District, in accorSance with the amendment appli- <br /> cation of John L. Sentesy sial. On motion of Councilman Jerome, <br /> seconded by Larsen and carried, a notice of public hearing was ordered <br /> published setting date of hearing as December 6th, 1954. <br /> <br />Communications were read from the Planning Commission recommending <br />approval of Fire Station site on West 17th Street near Olive Street, <br />and petition signed by four taxpayers objecting to the proposed Fire <br />Station site. On motion of Councilman McBride, seconded by Jerome <br />and carried, the communication and petition were received and filed. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman McBride, seconded by Dahl and carrieS, the <br />Mayor was authorized to enter into escrow with Lytel D. and Vera Larsen <br />for property for Fire Station site, in the sum of $45,000.00. <br /> <br />Roll Call Ayes, Councilmen J.L.McBride, Milford W.
