RESOLUTION 71-51 APPROVING MAP AND DECLARING <br />INTENTION TO ~ACATE A PORTION OF ALTON AVENUE <br />BETWEEN SUSAN STREET AND THE PACIFIC ELECTRIC <br />RAILWAY CROSSING, RESERVING AN EASEMENT THEREIN <br />FOR PUBLIC UTILITIES, AND GIVING NOTICE OF HEARING <br />THEREON <br /> <br /> W~EREAS, that portion of Alton Street lying between Susan <br />Street and the Pacific Electric Railway Crossing is no longer <br />necessary for present or prospective street purposes, and the <br />Department of Public Works and the Planning Commission of the <br />City of Santa Aha ha~e recommended that a public hearing he set <br />on the question of vacating said right of way; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of <br />the City of Santa Ana hereby approves the map attached hereto and <br />orders the same filed with the original of this Resolution in the <br />office of the Clerk of the Council, and reference is hereby made <br />to said map for the exterior boundaries of the right of way <br />proposed to be vacated; <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the City Council hereby <br />declares its intention to proceed under the provisions of the <br />Street Vacation Act of 1941 (Sections 8300 through 8374 of the <br />California Streets and Highways Code) to vacate That pgrtion of <br />Alton Street lying between Susan Street and the Pacific Electric <br />Railway Crossing and reserving therein an easement for public <br />utilities; said right of way proposed to be vacated lies in the <br />City of Santa Ana, County of Orange, State of California, and is <br />described as follows: <br /> <br />Those portions of Alton Avenue, formerly Talbert Avenue, as <br />described in instruments recorded in Book 4074, Page 556 and <br />Book 4105, Page 241 of Official Records, County of Orange, <br />State of California, lying within Lot 3 of the Williams Tract <br />in the City of Santa Ana as per map recorded in Book 30, <br />Page 14 of Deeds, Records of Los Angeles County, California <br />and within Section 27 of that ~land allotted to James <br />McFadden in said City of Santa Ana, as described in the Final <br />Decree of Partition of the Rancho Santiago de Santa Ana, <br />which was entered September 12, 1868 in Book "B", Page 410 of <br />Judgments of the District Court of the 17th Judicial District <br />in and for Los Angeles County, California, and those portions <br />of Alton Avenue as shown on a map of Tract 1013 in said City <br />of Santa Ana as per map recorded in Book 33, Page 36 of <br />Miscellaneous Maps in the office of the County Recorder of said <br />Orange County, bounded westerly by the Easterly line of the land <br />described in the deed to Pacific Electric Railway Company <br />recorded July 28, 1958 in Book 4364, Page 69 of said Official <br />Records and bounded Easterly by a line parallel or concentric <br />with and 30.00 feet Westerly and Northwesterly measured at right <br />angles, from the following described line: <br /> <br />Beginning at the intersection of the North line of said Alton <br />Avenue, 50.00 feet wide, as shown on said map Of Tract 1013 <br />with the center line prolongation of Susan Street as granted to <br />said City of Santa Ana by deed recorded March 13, 1961 in <br />Book 5654, Page 468 of said Official Records; thence along %he <br />Southerly prolongation of the center line of said Susan Street, <br />a distance of 20.00 feet to the intersection of the surveyed <br />center line of Alton Avenue as shown on said map of Tract 1013 <br /> <br />-1- <br /> <br /> <br />
