Lewis, showing a subdivision of <br /> portion of the N.W. ~ of Section 17 T-5 S., R-9 W., S.B.B.&.M., <br /> bounded on the west by McClay Street, north by Chestnut Street, on <br /> the east by Hubbard Street, when extended north to Chestnut Street; <br /> and on the south by a line 177.75' from the center llne of Regent <br /> Street and parallel to Regent Street, consisting of three parcels, of <br /> 1.939 acres, 4.178 acres and 4.078 acres, was approved subject to the <br /> <br /> existing building setback line on McClay Street. <br /> # <br /> <br /> On motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by Jerome and carried, Record <br /> of Survey Map, submitted by Emmet C. Rogers, sho~lng a subdivision <br /> consisting of four lots situated at Riviera Drive and Westwood Avenue, <br /> was approved. <br /> <br /> On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Dabl and carried, the <br /> petition signed by eight property owners requesting the abandonment <br /> of the alley south of Goetz Street between Cypress and Orange Avenues, <br /> <br /> in Tract No. 159, was referred to the Manager for recommendation. <br /> # <br />On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by McBride and carried, the <br />Resolutions from the Chambers of Commerce of Huntington Beach and <br />Newport Harbor requesting and urging that no artificial islands be <br />constructed off the shoreline of the City of Huntington Beach and <br />that any development of State tidelands for oil production be con- <br />ducted by slant drilling from upland drill sites, were received and <br /> <br /> filed. <br /> # <br />Communication was read from Barney Thoele requesting permission to <br />remove the trees on North Main Street adjacent to the Freeway Road <br />which will Join North Main Street and to use the land for the purpose <br />of stacking the wood obtained from the trees. On motion of Council- <br />man Dahl, seconded by McBride and carried, permission was granted to <br />use the property for a period of one year and the Attorney instructed <br />to prepare an agreement which will include the determination of the <br /> <br />number of treee to be pulled or cut back. <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Dahl and carried, the <br />communication from South Main Street Improvement Association express- <br />ing appreciation for the splendid work being done in the widening of <br /> <br />South Main Street, was received and filed. <br />. <br />On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Dahl and carried, the <br />Purchasing Agent was authorized to advertise for bids for the furnish- <br />in~ of 1,000 5/8#x3/4" and 50 1" water meters; bids to be opened <br /> <br />March 21st, 1955. <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by McBride and carried, the <br />application of Metropolitan Coach Lines to the Public Utilities <br />Commission for an alternate route to Los Angeles-Santa Ana Route No. <br />58 to provide passenger service to Disneyland in the vicinity of <br />Anaheim, was received and filed. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Ds.hl and carried, the <br /> <br /> notifications of the State Board of Equalization of alcoholic beverage <br />applications of Ramon B. Sandoval, 1027-29 E. 4th Street and Herman <br /> <br /> <br />
