English, was <br />~onsidered and passed by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes, Councilmen Dale H. Heinly, J. Ogden Narkel, <br /> William Jerome, Milford W. Da/al <br />Noes, Councilmen None <br />Absent, Councilmen Courtney R. Chandler <br /># <br /> <br />The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Ordinance, <br />motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Heinly and carried, the fol- <br /> <br />lowing Ordinance entitled: <br /> <br />"Ordinance No. NS-134 declaring the annexation <br /> of that certain territory designated 'Industrial <br /> AnnexTM <br /> <br />was considered and passed by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes, <br /> <br /> Cduneilmen <br /> <br />Noes, Councilmen <br />Absent, Councilmen <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Heinly, <br /> <br />Dale'H. Heinly, J. Ogden Markel, <br />William Jerome, Milford W. Dahl <br />None <br />Courtney R. Chandler <br /> <br />seconded by Markel and carried, the <br /> <br />following Ordinance entitled: <br /> <br />"Ordinance declaring and establishing a portion <br />of the City boundary of the City of Santa Ana" <br /> <br />southerly from a point on East First Street from Lyon Street to <br /> <br />Mcfadden Street, was introduced, considered and placed on file for <br /> <br />second reading. <br /># <br />On motion of Councilman Jerome,. seconded by Markel and carried, proper <br /> <br />officials were authorized to execute agreement dated September 20th, <br /> <br />1955, with the santa Aha Junior Chamber of Commerce, for the operation <br /> <br />of the parking lot at the Municipal Bowl. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Heiniy, seconded by Markel <br /> <br />and carried, proper <br /> <br />officials were authorized to execute lease dated August 1st, 1955, <br /> <br />with John A. Murdy, Jr., for rental of rooms 209-210 at 1104 W. 8th <br />Street, at a rental of $51.50 per month and for a term of seventeen <br /> <br />months. <br />,! <br /> <br />Communication was read from the City Manager advising of the. appoint- <br />ment of Homer Sterling as Assistant to the City Manager, effective <br />September 1st, 1955, and that the duties of Director of Personnel have <br /> <br />been delegated to Mr. Sterling. On motion of Councilman Jerome, <br />seconded by Heinly and carried, the communication was received, filed <br /> <br />and the appointment approved. <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Heinly and carried, the <br />Manager was authorized to negotiate for the disposal of the dwelling <br /> <br />on City-owned property adJa~nt to Bowers Memorial Museum. <br />~n motion of Councilman Heinly, seconded by Jerome and carried, the <br /> <br />Manager was authorized to advertise for bids for the sale of City real <br />property located on the west side of North Baker Street,'south of the <br />right-of-way of Santiago Creek, at a minimum price of'S10,000.00; bids <br /> <br />to be opened October 17th, 1955. <br /> <br /> <br />
