Bishop Streets, durin~ <br />the widening of South Main Street, was denied. <br /> <br />On recommendation of the committee and on motion of Councilman Heinly, <br />seconded by Markel and carried, the r®~uest of H.W.Steiner, on behalf <br /> <br />of Hoover P.T.A. that a traffic guard be stationed at.the intersection <br /> <br />of Santa Clara Avenue and Santiago Street, was denied. <br /> <br />On recommendation of the committee and on motion of Councilman Na~ke~, <br /> <br />seconded by Jerome and carried, the request of Santa Ana Motor Parts <br /> previously <br />and Machine Works that the loading zone_/est~blished at ~13 W. Fifth <br /> <br />Street be reinstated, was denied. <br /> <br />On recommendation of the committee and on motion of Councilman Heinly, <br />seconded by Jerome and carried, the request of Maria R. Soto that her <br /> <br />~enanSs be $ranted the privilege of parking their cars overnight in <br />front of her properties, at 808, 810 and 815 East Second Street, was <br /> <br />denied. <br />6n motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Heinly and carried, <br /> <br />matter <br /> <br /> the <br />of over-night parking of automobiles on the streets was referre, <br /> <br />to the Manager and Attorney for investigation and report as to the <br />possibility of eliminating portions of the City in regard to the <br /> <br />enforcement of the Ordinance pertaining to over-night parking. <br />. <br />On motion of Councilman Heinly, seconded by Jerome and carried, proper <br />officials were authorized to execute encroachment agreement with <br />Buffums~ for the removal of a wall and sign at Tenth and North Main <br /> <br />Streets. <br /> <br />It was moved by Councilman Heinly, <br /> <br />seconded by Markel and carried, <br /> <br />that Motorcycle Officers who have been appointed from the qivil Servlc <br />list be given a one-schedule increase and that no Motor Officer be <br /> <br />appointed hereafter from auy Civ$1 Service list, and that any Patrolma <br /> <br />assigned to duty as a Motor Patrol Officer, without having taken the <br />Civil Service examination, be paid the sum of $25.00 per month, <br />effective September 1st, 1955. <br /> <br />The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Resolution, <br />on motion of Gouncilman Heinly, seconded by Markel and carried, the <br />following Resolution entitled: <br /> <br />"Resolution No. 55-252 amending Resolution No. 511~ <br /> establishing a basic compensation plan by amending <br /> Sections 3, 13 and 14 thereof and by adding a new, <br /> Section 15 thereto to fix compensation of Motorcycle <br /> Officer - Police Department" <br /> <br />was considered and passed by the followin~ vote: <br /> <br />Ayes, Councilmen Dale H. Heinly, J. Osden Markel, <br /> William Jerome, Milford W. Dahl <br />Noes, Councilmen None <br />Absent, Councilmen Oourtney R. Chandler <br /> <br />On recommendation of the Manager and on motion of Councilman Heinly, <br /> <br />seconded by Markel and carried, Mab~l Price, Secretary, to the Chief <br /> <br />of Police, was granted five days travel time in addition .to the three <br /> <br />days for de~th absence. <br /># <br /> <br /> <br />
