Fortne~ <br /> <br />approval of variance to S. Nitta and Sons to permit the use of proper~ <br />at 2517 South Evergreen Street, for the housing of Mexican Nationals, <br />for a.period of one year only, subject to the approval of the Buildin , <br />Fire and Health Departments. Written reports were read from the <br />Health Department and the Fire Department and on motion of Councilman <br />Dahl, seconded by Jerome and carried, the recommendation of the <br />Planning Commission was approved and the variance granted, for a peri~ <br />of one year, subsequent to the approval and conditions of the Health <br /> <br />Department and other Departments. <br /># <br /> <br />Communication was read from the Planning Commission recommending <br />approval of variance application of Gladys Meyer and Eva King to con- <br />struct one one-bedroom per unit duplex per lot on property at 1719 <br />1801 G~eenleaf Street. The Council having unanimously waived the <br />reading of the Resolution, on motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by <br />Narkel and carried, the following Resolution entitled: <br /> <br /> "Resolution.No. 55-263 granting Variance under <br /> different terms and conditions than those <br /> recommended by the Planning Commission" <br /> <br /> as amended, fop the construction of one duplex on e~ch lot, was con- <br /> sidered and passed by'the following vote.: ~ <br /> <br />Ayes, Councilmen <br /> <br />Noes, Councilmen <br />Absent, Councilmen <br /> <br />Dale H. Heinly, J. Ogden Markel, William Jerome, <br />Milford W. Dahl, Courtney R. Chandler <br />None <br />None <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Markel, seconded by Dahl and carried, the <br />recommendation of the Planning Commission was approved and the varian¢ <br />of Clara Whlteman granted to permit the use of property at 321 West <br />Washington Avenue, for erection of a medical-dental building to <br />accommodate Swo physicians and one dentist, with available space for <br /> <br />off-street parking of thirteen cars, subject to certain conditions. <br />. <br />On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Dahl and carried, the <br />recommendation of the Planning Commission was approved and the varian¢ <br />of Milton Mann granted to permit use of property, consisting of four <br /> <br />lots, on the <br />Streets, for <br />music studio, <br /> <br />east side of Baker Street between Stanford and Edinger <br />construction of a soundproof, air-conditioned, modern <br />and to sell musical instruments to students of the music <br /> <br />studio, subject to conditions of the Commission and Department of Publ <br />Works. <br /> <br />Communication was read from the Planning Commission recommending denla <br />of variance application of James T. Fortner for permission to use <br />existing building on property at 1214 South Broadway for a medical <br />office, with sign. Mrs. R.M.Aswill, 1233 South Broadway protested <br />the variance for the reason that the property is in a residential area <br />and the existence of a medical office would cause traffic eonse~tlon. <br />On motion of Councilman Markel, seconded by Jerome and carried, the <br />recommendation of the Planning Commission was approved and the variant <br />denied. <br /> <br /> <br />
