Chandler <br />Noes, Councilmen None <br />Absent, Councilmen None <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by Jerome and carrisd, the fol- <br /> <br />lowihg Ordinance entitled: <br /> <br />"Ordinance providing regulations for the prevention <br />of.pollution of underground or surface waters and <br />.authorizing the County of Orange to act as enforce- <br />ment agency for the City of Santa Ana" <br /> <br />was introduced, considered and placed on file for second reading. <br />, <br />Petition signed by Mr. and Mrs. E. S. Young, recommendation .of the <br /> <br />Planning Commission and report of the Boundary Commission were present <br />on the proposed annexation of 27.956 acres lying generally south of <br />Dyer Road and w~st of Harbor Boulevard. On motion of Councilman Dahl <br /> <br />seconded by Jerome and carried, said documents were received and filed <br />,! <br /> <br />The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Resolution, <br />on'motion Of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Dahl and carried, the fol- <br /> <br />lowing Resolution entitled: <br /> <br />"Resolution No. 55-275 giving notice of proposed <br />annexation to the City of Santa Ana of that certain <br />uninhabited territory described herein and desig- <br />nated ~Seccombe Annex No. 1t and giving notice of <br />time and place for hearing of protests thereto" <br /> <br />was considered and passed by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes, Councilmen Dale H. Heinly, J. Ogden Marke!, William Jerome, <br /> Milford W. Dahl, Courtney R. Chandler <br />Noes, Councilmen None <br />Absent, Councilmen None <br /> <br />On recommendation of the committee and on motion of Councilman Heinly, <br />seconded by Markel and carried, the oral request of James R. Mitchell <br /> <br />that a thirty minute or a one-hour parking zone be established between <br /> <br />Buffalo and Santa Clara Avenue, was denied. <br /> <br />A petition was presented signed by ten property <br /> <br />owners prote.sting the <br /> <br />opening of an all.ey between Edin~er and. Pomona Streets, and on motion <br /> <br />of CouncilmaD Dahl, seconded by Markel and carried, the petition was <br /> <br /> received and filed. It was moved by Councilman Dahl, seconded by <br /> <br /> Markel and carried, that the previous deadline of October 1st, 1955, t~ <br /> clear the a~ley be extended to December 1st, 1955. <br /> <br />,A petition was presented signed by fifty-six persons protesting the <br />granting of liquor license to Joseph Nichols, dba Nichols Barbeque, <br />220~-2206 West Fifth Street, and on motion of Councilman Dahi'',seconde, <br />by Heinly and carried, the petition was received, filed and photostati, <br />copy ordered forwkrded to the State Board of Equalization. <br /> <br /> On motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by Markel and carried, the claiz <br /> of Kathryn Young,~ in the sum of $5,000.00, for injuries Sustained~i~n a <br /> ifall o~ t~e detective parkway on Bush Street, between First and Second <br /> <br />Streets, on August 20th, 1955, was referred to the Attorney and <br /> <br />Insurance Carrier. <br /> <br />Communication was read from Attorneys McFadden., Turner and Owens, <br /> <br />reference title to property along the Santa Ana river bed for an eaae- <br /> <br />ment for the Joint 0utfall Sewer and advising that an Order of the <br /> <br />Court has been obtained directing refund to the City of $598.00, the <br /> <br />balance of the money posted as security in connection with this matter <br /> <br /> <br />
