RESOLUTION NO. 73-126 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SANTA ANA APPROVING MAP AND DECLARING <br />INTENTION TO VACATE A PORTION OF THE NORTH <br />SIDE OF CHESTNUT AVENUE FROM A POINT APPROXI- <br />MATELY 244 FEET TO 487 FEET WEST OF THE CENTER <br />LINE OF GRAND AVENUE <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works and the Planning <br />Commission have recommended a public hearing be set on the <br />question of said vacation, a request for the vacation of a <br />portion of the north side of Chestnut Avenue from a point <br />approximately 244 feet to 487 feet west of the center line of <br />Grand Avenue, herein described, has been received by the City <br />Council. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council <br />hereby approves the map attached hereto and orders the same <br />filed with the original of this Resolution in the Office of the <br />Clerk of the Council, and reference is hereby made to said map <br />for the exterior boundaries for said right of way proposed to <br />be vacated. <br /> <br /> The City Council declares its intention to proceed under <br />the provisions of the Street Vacation Act of 1941 (Sections <br />8300-8374 of the California Streets and Highways Code) to <br />vacate that portion of the north side of Chestnut Avenue from <br />a point approximately 244 feet to 487 feet west of the center <br />line of Grand Avenue, in the City of Santa Ana, County of <br />Orange, State of California, described as follows: <br /> <br />That portion of Chestnut Avenue, as described <br />in a deed to the City of Santa Ana, California, <br />recorded March l4, 1890 in Book 4 Page 284 of <br />Deeds, Records of Orange County, California; <br />Bounded Easterly by the Westerly boundary of <br />the land described in a deed to Gulf Oil Corpora- <br />tio~, recorded October 1, 1964 in Book 7242 Page <br />22 of Official Records of said County; Bounded <br />Westerly by the Easterly line of Parcel 3, as <br />shown on a Map filed in Book 36 Page 49 of Parcel <br />Maps, in the office of the County Recorder of <br />said County; and Bounded Southerly by a line <br />parallel with and Northerly 41.00 feet from the <br />monumental centerline of said Chestnut Avenue, <br />as shown on a Map filed in Book 75 Page 15 of <br />Record of Surveys, in the office of the County <br />Recorder of said County. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That December 3, 1973, at the <br />hour of 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers, 22 Civic Center Plaza, <br />Santa Ana, California, is hereby fixed as the hour and the place <br />for hearing all persons interested in or objecting to said pro- <br />Dosed street vacation. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the Clerk of the Council of <br />the City of Santa Ana is hereby ordered to publish this Resolu- <br />tion one time in the Register, and the Director of Public Works <br />is ordered to post notices of street vacation conspicuously <br />along the line of said street, stating the passage of this <br />Resolution of Intention to Vacate and the time and place of <br />hearing thereon. Said notices shall be posted not more than <br />300' apart and at least three (3) such notices shall be posted. <br />Both publication and posting shall be completed at least ten <br />~0) days before the date of the hearing. <br /> <br /> <br />
