Bene and Charles E. Stanfield, 408 <br /> South Main Street, Arnulfo L. Ramirez, 600 North Main St., Ben C. and Pascual C. <br /> Munoz and Robert C. Munoz, 1432 W. 4th Street, Alexander J. Miller, 1008 E. 17th <br /> Street, Helen U. and Paul V. Banks and Leonard R. Gorzeman, 1OO3 South Bristol <br /> Street, Dorathea E. and Jesse F. McCowan, llll South Bristol Street, Hermina H. and <br /> Julian R. Felix, 190~ W. 3rd Street~ and John V. Sartnana, 2218 W. Fifth Street, <br /> were received and filed. <br /> <br /> On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Dahl and carried, the Annual Report for <br /> 1955, submitted by the Fire Department, was received and filed. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilman Markel, seconded by Dahl and carried, that the Chief of <br /> the Fire DePartment be complimented and commended on the splendid work they have <br /> performed in combatting fires and reducing the fire rate in the City. <br /> <br /> The report of the Park Board was read stating that a set policy for the removal of <br /> trees in the con~ercial area would be impracticable and suggesting that a meeting <br /> of the Council and the Park Board be held to discuss the individual problems and <br /> on motion of Councilman Markel, seconded by Jerome and carried, the report was <br /> received and filed. It was moved by C~uncilman Markel, seconded by Jerome and <br /> csrried, that a committee of the Council be appointed to meet with the Park Board <br /> to discuss the matters as contained in the report. The Mayor appointed Councilmen <br /> ~rkel and Jerome as the committee. <br /> <br />The Manager presented a letter signed by the Insurance Committee of the City <br />Employees Association reference a life insurance and group health plan proposed by <br />the Aetna Life Insurance Company and recommended the acceptance of the plan. On~ <br />motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by Heinly and carried, proper officials were <br />authorized to execute an a~reement with the Aetna Life Insurance Company for the <br />benefit of employees participating in a life insurance and group health plan, with <br />a contribution per month of not more than $3.06 per employee participating, the <br />estimated cost per employee permonth for term life insurance and major medical <br /> <br /> coverage; if the required number of employees agree to participate. <br /> <br />On recommendation of the Manager and on motion of Councilman Heinly, seconded by <br /> <br />Markel and carried, the request of nine property owners that a parking sign be <br />installed on Pine Street from Birch to Ross Streets and on Ross to Walnut Streets, <br />except the west side of Ross Street adjoining the High School grounds, establishing <br />a two-hour parking limit from 8 A.M. to 4 P.M., was denied. <br /> <br />Communications were read from Henry Jones Corporation and Harry R. Martin requesting <br />elimination of standard curb and gutter within Tract No. 2948, and on recommendation <br />of the Manager and on motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Dah~ and carried, the <br />valley gutters in said Tract were approved except on Dyer Road and on the most <br />southerly east-west streets and that normal curb, gutter smd sidewalk be required. <br />The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of <br />Councilman Dahl, seconded by Heinly and carried, the following Resolution entitled: <br /> <br /> "Resolution No. 56-~1 concerning limited or no parking signs" <br /> <br />establishing one-hour parking on both sides of Tenth Street between Main and Bush <br />Streets, in accordance with request of Buffums', was considered and passed by the <br />following vote: <br /> <br /> <br />
