<br />On motion of Councilm-n Jerom-, seconded by D, hl and carried, the request of the
<br />Blue Star Mothers of America No. 10, for permission to solicit funds and sell blue
<br />daisies May ~th, 1956, was granted.

<br />Communication was read from Walter N. Vandermast protesting par-11el parking in the
<br />down-town district, and on motion of Coanoflm~n Reinly, seconded by Markel and car-
<br />ried, the communication was received and filed.

<br />On motion of Councilm-n Jero~e, seconded by Dahl and carried, co,~aunication dated
<br />March 21st, 1956, together with ~solution No. 13~7 from the City of Orange advisiz
<br />of proposed annexation of certain real property, was received and filed.

<br />On motion of Coancilman D~h], seconded by Heinly and carried, the c~ication
<br />from Mrs. W.T.Everett, 12051 Lewis Street, Or-nge, protesting any -nnexatton which
<br />would place them within the boundaries of any City, was received, filed and referee
<br />to the N-n-ger for reply.

<br />On motion of Councilm-~ Heinly, seconded by Markel and carried, the request of W.
<br />W. Hoy for a y~ar's extension to file the remainder of Tentative Tract Nos. 2~87 am
<br />253~, was granted.

<br />Communication was read from Bristol Develolm~ent Company by Federated Construction
<br />Company requesting an extension of time on the sign variance on property located
<br />the southwest corner of Bristol and Myrtle Streets, being Tract No. 1371, just wes~
<br />of Bristol Street. On motion of Counci~-n Dahl, seconded by Jerome and carried,
<br />the c~ication was received and filed.

<br />On moti°n of Coanci]m-n D-h1; seconded by Jerome and carried, the request of Orange
<br />County Builders,' Association for permission to place placards on the light poles
<br />advertising the 2nd ,nnual Orange County Home Show, from May 2nd to May 6th,
<br />inclusive, was denied.
<br />
<br />On motion of Councilman D-hi, seconded by Markel and carried, the Purchasing Agent
<br />was authorized to advertise for bids for the furnishing and installing of flood-
<br />lighting system for ba] 1 diamonds at Aloha Park, in accordance with Specification
<br />No. 6~7-2 and the furnishing and installing outdoor lighttng system for playgrounds
<br />and picnic areas at Aloha Park, in accoraa-ce with ~pecification No. 647-3; bids
<br />to be opened April 16th, 1956.
<br />
<br />On motion of Councilman Dab1, seconded by Jerc~e and carried, the claim of Myrta
<br />Anderson for alleged injuries sustained in a fall at the northeast corner of Fifth
<br />and Main Streets, on February 20th, 19~6, in the sum of $97.15, was referred
<br />the Attorney and Insurance Carrier.
<br />
<br />On motion of Counc~lm-- D~hl, seconded by Jerome and carried, the application of
<br />Metropolitan Coach Lines before the Public Utilities Commission, for authority to
<br />re-route and re-schedule Line 58, Los Angeles-Santa Ana Motor Coach Line, was
<br />received and filed.
<br />
<br />Communication was read from Orange Empire Council reference Boy Scout Circus to
<br />be ~eld M~y 19th in the Municipal Bowl and requesting that the fee paid by the Boy
<br />Scouts be figux~d on a cost of Bowl operation. On motion of Counc~ lm,n Reinly,
<br />seconded by Markel and carried, permission was granted for the use of the Bowl on
<br />a flat rate charge, as requested.
<br />
<br />On motion of Counc]]m~-u Reiuly, seconded by Jerome and carried, the request of The
<br />Military Order of the Purple Reart was denied,to use one parking space for the
<br />purpose bf exhibiting antique and modern firearms and war equilxaent for a period
<br />of a few days s~ time during the year, the exact date to be determined later.
