Finamore <br /> <br />In Re <br />State Employees <br />Retirement Law <br /> <br />In Re <br />Request <br />Wm.D. ~,~each~er Co. <br />(Fire Station W.17th St. ) <br /> <br /> On recommendation of the curb usage c~mm~ttee and on motion of Councilm-n Reinly, <br /> seconded by Markel and carried, the request of General Petroleum Corp., was granted <br /> fo~ four over-size drive~ys; two 35 foot approaches on 17th Street and two 35 foot <br /> approaches on Grand Avenue, for the service station now under construction at the <br /> southwest corner of 17th Street and Grand Avenue. <br /> <br /> The Manager reported on the request of the Bristol Baptist Church, 1818 South <br /> Bristol Street, for a pedestrian zone to be established and stated that as this <br /> pedestrian lane would be established at an intersection no O~icial action is neces <br /> sary. On motion of Counc~ lm, n D~bl, seconded by Heinly and carried, the request <br /> was received and filed. <br /> <br /> The Manager reported on the oral request of Councilman Heiuly that a limited <br /> zone be established at the A~:~%w Glass and Mirror Ccmpany, 1238 West First Street, <br /> and requested that no action be taken at the present time as the parking situation <br /> has been ~mfeabl~ solved. On motion of Counctlm~n n~hl~ seconded by Heinly and <br /> carried, the request was denied and the oral report accepted. <br /> <br /> The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the l~solutlon, on motion of <br /> Councilma~ DalLI~ seconded by Reinly and carried, the following Resolution entitled: <br /> <br /> "Resolution No. 56-112 concerning limited or no parking signs" <br /> <br /> establishing a two-hour zone on both sides of North Main Street, between Washington <br /> and Santa Clara, reference the oral request of James R. Mitchell, was considered <br /> passed by the following vote: <br /> <br /> Ayes, Counc~m"n Dale H. Reinly, J. Ogden Markel, William Jerome, <br /> Milford W. Dab!, Courtney R. Chandler <br /> Noes, Councilmen None <br /> Absent, Counc~ ~m-n None <br /> <br /> The Manager read a report from the Police Department in regard to the protest of <br /> Louis Goo~m~ of the continued use of his property in the 2600 block South Main <br /> Street by Clyde O. Mussack dba "Guy's Auto Salvage", for the storing of vehicles <br /> and also blocking the City alley which separates his property from the Junk yard. <br /> On motion of Councilman D-h1, seconded by Reialy and carried, the report was <br /> received and filed. <br /> <br /> On recommendation of the Manager and the Business Men's Association and on motion <br /> of Councilman Dahl, seconded by Reinly and carried, the request of the <br /> <br /> County Association for retarded children was granted to solicit funds and donating <br /> nosegays on Friday, April 13th, 1956, in at least five locations. <br /> <br /> On motion of Councilm-~ D-h1, seconded by Reinly and carried, the M-~-g~er was <br /> granted further time in which to complete the report reference the proposed <br /> ation to the City of Anaheim of territory designated "K~tella Annexation". <br /> <br /> On motion of Councilm-n Jerome, seconded by Reinly and carried, the Attorney was <br /> granted fua-ther time in which to complete the report reference com~mication frc~ <br /> John M. Fin-more requesting that the City Ordinance be enforced, whieh provides' <br /> that no chickens eh-13 be kept within ~0 feet of a dwelling. <br /> <br /> The Attorney orally reported on the effect of the Charter provisions regarding the <br /> State Employees Retirement Law and on motion of Counetlm-~ D-h1, seconded by Neinly <br /> and carried, the matter was referred to the Council as a whole for further study <br /> and the oral report accepted. <br /> <br />On recnzm~endation of the Manager and on motion of CouneS~m-- D-h1, seconded by <br />Reinly and caxTled, the request of Wm. D. Greschner Company was granted for an <br />extension of time u~til Jur~ let, 1956, as the completion date on the eonstr~etion <br />of the Fire Station on West 17th Street. <br /> <br /> <br />
