11. <br /> <br />Council Chamber <br />Santa Ana City Hall <br />April 16~ 1956. 7:~0 P.M. <br /> <br />Oity Council met in regular session. <br />Meeting called to order by the Mayor. <br /> <br />Present: CounciLmen <br /> <br />Absent: Councilmen <br /> <br />Dale H. Heinly, J. Ogden Markel, <br />Milford W. D, hl, Courtney R. Chandler <br />William Jerome <br /> <br />Each member of the City Council having received copies of the Minutes of April <br />2nd, 1956, reading of the Minutes was dispensed with and approved on motion of <br />Councilman Heinly~ seconded by D~hl and carried. <br /> <br />In Re <br />Hearing <br />"Eighth at King <br />Annex" - Ordinance <br /> <br />This being the date set for hearing protests on annexation to the City of certain <br />uninhabited territory designated "Eighth at King Annex", and there being no protests <br />on motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by Markel and carried, the following <br />entitled: <br /> <br />"Ordinance declaring the -~-exation of that certain <br />territory designated 'Eighth at King Annex'" <br /> <br />In Re <br />Bid acceptance <br />Floodlighting system <br />at Alona Park <br /> <br />was introduced, considered and placed on file for second reading. <br /> <br />A tabulation of bids was presented by the Manager for the furnishing and installing <br />floodlighting system for ball diamonds at Alona Park, in accordsnce with <br /> <br />No. 6~?-2, as follows: <br /> <br />Gilbert and Stearns $8557.00 <br />IncludiD~ all applicable taxes~ license and other fees. <br />Guaranteed delivery 30 days after award of contract. <br /> <br />Wright Electric $9888.00 <br />Including all applicable taxes, license and other fees. <br />Not including lamps. <br /> <br />Grimes Electric $9200.00 <br />Including all applicable taxes, license and other fees. <br />Guaranteed deliverY l0 days after award of contract. <br /> <br />Santa Ana Electric Co.$9000.00 <br />Including all applicable taxes, license and other fees. <br />G~ranteed deliverY 20 days after award of contract. <br /> <br />On recommendation of the Manager and on motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by ~ <br />Heinly and carried, the bid of Gilbert and Stearns, in the sum of $8557.00was <br /> <br />In Re <br />Bid acceptance <br />Outdoor lighting <br />System for playgrounds <br />and picnic areas at <br />~lona Park <br /> <br /> accepted and al~ other bids rejected. <br /> <br /> A tabulation of bids was presented by the Manager for the furnishing and installing <br /> outdoor lighting system for playgrounds and picnic areas at Alona Park, in accord- <br /> ance with Specification No. 647-3, as follows: <br /> <br /> Gilbert and Stearns $ 590.00 <br /> Including all applicable taxes, license end other fees. <br />Guaranteed delivery 30 days after award of contract. <br /> <br />Grimes Electric $ 800.00 <br />Including all applicable taxes, license and other fees. <br />Guaranteed delivery lO days after award of contract. <br /> <br />Sant~ Ana Electric Co.$ 750.00 <br />Including all applicable taxes, license and other fees. <br />Guaranteed delivery 14 days after award of contract. <br /> <br />Wright Electric $2262.00 <br />Including all applicable taxes, license and other f6es. <br />Not including lamps. <br /> <br />On recnmmendation of the M~n-ger and on motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by <br /> <br />and carried, the bid of Gilbert and Stearns, in the sum of $590.00 was accepted and <br /> <br />In Re <br />Variance <br />Fairview Terrace <br />Homes No. 2 <br /> <br />all other bids rejected. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman D~bt, seconded by Neinly and carried, the recommendation of <br />the Planning Commission was approved and the variance of Fairview Terrace Nomes No. <br />2 granted to permit construction of houses 50 feet from center of 60-foot streets, <br /> <br />instead of 60 feet, and 62 feet from center of street on 8~-foot streets, in Tract <br /> <br />No. 2568, located on the south side of Fairview Avenue, west of South Pacific <br /> <br />Avenue, if extended south. <br /> <br /> <br />
