11. Council Chamber Santa Ana City Hall April 16~ 1956. 7:~0 P.M. Oity Council met in regular session. Meeting called to order by the Mayor. Present: CounciLmen Absent: Councilmen Dale H. Heinly, J. Ogden Markel, Milford W. D, hl, Courtney R. Chandler William Jerome Each member of the City Council having received copies of the Minutes of April 2nd, 1956, reading of the Minutes was dispensed with and approved on motion of Councilman Heinly~ seconded by D~hl and carried. In Re Hearing "Eighth at King Annex" - Ordinance This being the date set for hearing protests on annexation to the City of certain uninhabited territory designated "Eighth at King Annex", and there being no protests on motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by Markel and carried, the following entitled: "Ordinance declaring the -~-exation of that certain territory designated 'Eighth at King Annex'" In Re Bid acceptance Floodlighting system at Alona Park was introduced, considered and placed on file for second reading. A tabulation of bids was presented by the Manager for the furnishing and installing floodlighting system for ball diamonds at Alona Park, in accordsnce with No. 6~?-2, as follows: Gilbert and Stearns $8557.00 IncludiD~ all applicable taxes~ license and other fees. Guaranteed delivery 30 days after award of contract. Wright Electric $9888.00 Including all applicable taxes, license and other fees. Not including lamps. Grimes Electric $9200.00 Including all applicable taxes, license and other fees. Guaranteed deliverY l0 days after award of contract. Santa Ana Electric Co.$9000.00 Including all applicable taxes, license and other fees. G~ranteed deliverY 20 days after award of contract. On recommendation of the Manager and on motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by ~ Heinly and carried, the bid of Gilbert and Stearns, in the sum of $8557.00was In Re Bid acceptance Outdoor lighting System for playgrounds and picnic areas at ~lona Park accepted and al~ other bids rejected. A tabulation of bids was presented by the Manager for the furnishing and installing outdoor lighting system for playgrounds and picnic areas at Alona Park, in accord- ance with Specification No. 647-3, as follows: Gilbert and Stearns $ 590.00 Including all applicable taxes, license end other fees. Guaranteed delivery 30 days after award of contract. Grimes Electric $ 800.00 Including all applicable taxes, license and other fees. Guaranteed delivery lO days after award of contract. Sant~ Ana Electric Co.$ 750.00 Including all applicable taxes, license and other fees. Guaranteed delivery 14 days after award of contract. Wright Electric $2262.00 Including all applicable taxes, license and other f6es. Not including lamps. On recnmmendation of the M~n-ger and on motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by and carried, the bid of Gilbert and Stearns, in the sum of $590.00 was accepted and In Re Variance Fairview Terrace Homes No. 2 all other bids rejected. On motion of Councilman D~bt, seconded by Neinly and carried, the recommendation of the Planning Commission was approved and the variance of Fairview Terrace Nomes No. 2 granted to permit construction of houses 50 feet from center of 60-foot streets, instead of 60 feet, and 62 feet from center of street on 8~-foot streets, in Tract No. 2568, located on the south side of Fairview Avenue, west of South Pacific Avenue, if extended south.
