<br />The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the P~solution, on motion of

<br />Counc~]m~n Dahl, seconded by Markel and carried, the following Resolution entitled:

<br />"Resolution No. 56-118 cammending the Board of Directors of the
<br />Metropolitan Water District of Southern California and placing
<br />proposition 'W' on the June 5th, 1956 ballot and recommending
<br />a 'Yes' vote on said proposition"
<br />

<br />On recommendation of the Manager and on motion of Councilman H~inly, seconded by

<br />Markel and carried, proper official was authorized to execute agreement with Coates
<br />
<br />Herfurth and England, Consulting Actuaries, in connection with amending the City's
<br />
<br />contract with the State Employees' Retirement System in order to guarantee a minimum
<br />retirement allowance of $100.00 in place of the present $60.00 minimum.

<br />It was moved by Councilman D,hl, seconded by Heinly and carried, that the 25 foot
<br />
<br />front yard requirement be waived and a 20 foot requirement be established in Tract
<br /> bounded
<br />No. 2483 submitted by Jennings-Halderman, Inc., involving property/on the north by
<br />
<br />McFadden Street, east by Standard Avenue, south by Hobart Street and on the west by
<br />
<br />the Pacific Electric Railroad on Lots Nos. 12, 13, 21, 22, 31, ~2, Al, 42, ~7, 48,
<br />
<br />51, 55, 60, 61, 63, 64, 70, 74, 77, 82, 83, 84, 85, 88, 92, 96, 97 and 99.
<br />
<br />On recommendation of the Manager and on motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by
<br />
<br />IIeinly and carried, the Purchasing Agent was authorized to advertise for bids for
<br />
<br />the furnishing of one trUck, tractor drawm, 85 foot aerial ladder for the Fire
<br />
<br />Department, in accordance with Specification No. 626-2; bids to he openSd May 21st,
<br />
<br />1956.

<br />On motion of Councilman Dabl, seconded by Markel and carried, the City Council
<br />
<br />adjourned.
