CITY OF ~ANTA ANA <br /> <br />EQUIPMENT SERVICEMAN II <br /> <br />DEFINITION <br /> <br />Under supervision, lubricates and services automotive, heavy-duty construction <br />and other mechanized equipment and runs parts. <br /> <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES <br /> <br />Lubricates trucks, tractors, power mowers, graders and similar motorized equipment <br />with fuel, oil and grease using air pressure and hand lubrication tools; performs <br />oil and filter changes; sands and paints varied equipment; drives truck to parts <br />house to pick up automotive and heavy equipment parts required by equipment mecha- <br />nics; changes and repairs tires; may assist equipment mechanics with mechanical <br />repair and adjustment in a training capacity; operates tow truck when necessary <br />and performs related duties as required. <br /> <br />pISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS <br /> <br />An employee in this class performs semi-skilled ~aintenance and lubrication work. <br />Following a short training period, incumbents are expected to have a working know- <br />ledge of the basic operation, lubrication and service requirements of automotive~ <br />truck and heavy-duty construction equipment. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS <br /> <br />One year of experience in servicing automotive equipment or any equivalent com- <br />hi~ation of training and experience which provides the following knowledge, skills <br />and abilities: <br /> <br />Knowledge of: the use of oils, greases, oil and lubricating tools, and other <br />materials used in lubricating varied motorized mechanical equipment. Ability to: <br />read and write; make minor adjustments or repairs to automotive and heavy equip- <br />ment; follow instructions; drive a wide variety of motor vehicles; maintain repair <br />and service records and maintain effective working relations with fellow employees. <br /> <br />Special Requirements: Possession of a valid California Driver.'s License. Possession <br />of a basio set of hand tools for service station type work. <br /> <br /> <br />
