<br /> was authorized to advertise for bids for various sizes of galvanized pipe and
<br /> fittings for a sprinkler system at Eighth and Artesia property; bids to be opened
<br /> August 20th, 1956.

<br /> On motion of Councilman Dab_l, seconded by Jerome and carried, the Purchasing Agent
<br /> was authorized to advertise for bids for the dismantling, re-building, enlarging
<br /> and re-installing the flood-lighting system at the Municipal Bowl, Specification
<br /> No. 691-3; bids to be opened August 2Oth, 1956.

<br /> Roach, Gene E. Spre%qle, Joseph H. Chasse, Do~-ld E. Kubik and Irene J. Millar, to
<br /> drive taxicabs, were granted.

<br /> School, was granted.

<br /> invitation to the residents of the City of Santa Aha and a cordial welcome to the
<br /> Pony League players, who will participate in the 1~56 Pcmy League Regional Play-
<br /> offs, at San Rernardino, and on motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Markel and
<br /> carried, the ccm~aunication was received and filed.

<br /> On motion of Co,ucC!man D~b~, seconded by Jerome and carried, the verified Claim
<br /> and Notice to Withhold of Arrow Glass and Mirror Company, in the sum of $256.19,
<br /> reference Memorial Park Swimming Pool, and Dakan Engineering Cc~pany, Prime Con-
<br /> tractor, was referred to the Manager.

<br /> It was moved by Councilman Do_bl, seconded by Neinly and caa~ried, that a policy be
<br /> adopted that upon completion of any capital improvements of the City of Santa Aha,
<br /> a notice of completion be filed by the contractor.

<br /> P~tition signed by Phillip Rernstein, Lena Bernstein by Phillip Berastein, Guardian.
<br /> and Nyman Rernstein, recommendation of the Planning Commission and report of the
<br /> Boundary Commission were presented on the proposed annexation of approximately
<br /> 5.064 acre parcel of property located on the south side of West Fifth Street. On
<br /> motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Markel and carried, said doc~ents were
<br /> received and filed.

<br /> The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of
<br /> Councilman Dahl, seconded by Jerame and carried, the following Resolution entitled:

<br /> "Resolution No. 56-218 giving notice of proposed annexation to
<br /> the City of Santa Aha of that certain uninhabited territory
<br /> described herein and designated 'Bernstein Fifth Street Annex'
<br /> and giving notice of time and place for hearing of protests
<br /> ' thereto"
