Increase the quality of arrests and. lmprovg the ration of <br />convictions to arrests for illegal narcotics and restricted <br />dangerous drug offenses. <br /> <br />a) Establish baseline data indicating conviction rates of <br /> of£enses for the proceeding two (2) years. <br /> <br />b) <br /> <br />Gather during the course of the project conviction rates <br />of all narcotic offenses and compare it to the baseline <br />data for the proceeding two (2) years.· <br /> <br />Increase coordination and cooperation to exchange information <br />within each individual agency and among local, state· and federal <br />agencies in the r~duction of illegal narcotic and restricted <br />dangerous drug offenses. Third year input by member agencies will <br />be compared with first and second year contributions. <br /> <br />Cooperate with health care delivery services in the area of drug <br />abuse prevention and treatment resources. <br /> <br />a. The Project Director heads the Technical Advisory Board <br /> on drug abuse· <br /> <br />b. The Coordinator is a member of the Technical Advisory <br /> Board on drug abuse. <br /> <br />Participate at all levels in a comprehensive uniform <br />narcotic enforcement training program. <br /> <br />a) Has the Index involved itself in such a training program? <br /> <br />b) What was the number of personnel trained, the type <br /> of training, and the length of such training? <br /> <br />c) <br /> <br />A post-training survey shall be conducted to <br />determine the quality and the effectiveness of <br />the training. <br /> <br />7. Impact on those crimes related to the sale and use of <br /> narcotics and restricted dangerous drugs. <br /> <br /> a) How many individuals have been arrested and convicted <br /> for ot~er criminal offenses as a direct result of ~he <br /> efforts of the narcotic enforcement program? <br /> <br />b) 'What types df~contraband and quantity seized? <br /> <br />Determine the~precfpitating causes leading to the <br />initial contact~and subsequent arrest of the individual(s). <br /> <br />a) <br /> <br />Provide the data and analysis indicating the <br />precipitating cause leading to the initial <br />contact and subsequent arrest of individual(s). <br /> <br />22a <br /> <br /> <br />
