~iHODOLOGY (Continued) <br /> <br />project review and ev~_luation of all system design, development and <br />implementation activities. In addition, the Advisory CG~tttee will <br />assist in establishing a preliminary set of system criteria and per- <br />formance standards to be used as guidelines for subsequent project <br />design and development activities. The Advisory Co~nittee also will <br />actively participate in the formulation of a set of system data and <br />procedural requirements to be modified, expanded, verified and made <br />more specific during the course of the projects operation. To this <br />extent, review of current regional system design efforts will be in- <br />eluded in Phase I. I <br /> <br />~he procedures outlined in the O~ange County System Develo~nent Manual <br />will be utilized by the Advisory Co~ittee and project technical staff <br />where appropriate to enSure compatibility of effort with existing and/ <br />or projected information system develo~nent projects in Or~uge County. <br />Phase I of the proposed project will entail the development of a de- <br />tailed set of system design specifications and performance standards <br />that will permit the most economic an~d feasible collection, storage, <br />retrieval and analysis of data required to support the burglary pre- <br />vention and apprshension function, according to logical information <br />categories and in a manner ensuring both flexible access and the elim- <br />ination of unnecessary or redundant information. <br /> <br />The operational dat~ ~equired to support the burglary prevention and <br /> <br />apprehension function also will be defined. This d~efinition will <br />identify the type, so~u~ce, characteristics, and.~format of the necessary <br /> <br />- 20 - <br /> <br /> <br />
