A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />FIXING CHARGES FOR THE INSTALLATION OF NEW WATER MAINS AND <br />FRONT FOOTAGE CHARGES FOR CONNECTION TO EXISTING WATER MAINS <br />FOR WHICH NO PAYMENT HAS PREVIOUSLY BEEN MADE AND RESCINDING <br />RESOLUTION 70-29 <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the cost of installing water mains directly benefiting a <br />parcel of property should be borne by the owner or owners of said property; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Water Utility may require the installation of water <br />mains with excess capacity, to provide for the distribution of water through <br />or by said property; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is appropriate that the Water Utility collect the cost <br />of said water main which is a direct benefit to the property requesting such <br />installation; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the following charges shall <br />be collected from all applicants requesting the installation of new water mains <br />as provided for in Section 39-22 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code. These charges <br />shall be collected for only that size or sizes required for the requested <br />development as determined by the Director of Public Works: <br /> <br /> 6" or smaller water mains at $6.00 per linear foot <br /> 8" water mains at $8.00 per linear foot <br />10" water mains at $9.50 per linear foot <br />12" or larger water mains at $11.00 per linear foot <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the above charges shall be waived if the <br />applicant installs water mains and hydrants at his own expense. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That a front footage charge of one-half of the <br />said linear foot charge shall be collected for each recorded parcel or lot request- <br />ing the connection of a service to an existing water main for which no previous <br />payment has been made. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That Resolution No. 70-29 fixing charges for <br />water mains is hereby rescinded. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That this resolution shall be effective the <br />1st day of October 1974. <br /> <br /> PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa Ana at <br />its ad~ma~ne~ r~a~r ~me~i~held~e3a fl~e 9th ~kPf S6~alrnber, 1974. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />CLERK OF THE COUNCIL <br /> <br />STATE OF CLAIFORNIA ) <br />COUNTY OF ORANGE ) SS <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA ) <br /> <br /> <br />
