~, Projec~ Objectives <br /> <br />A. The following are considered' to be the project objectives <br /> as stated: <br /> <br />Reduce the trafficking and availability in illegal <br />narcotics and restricted dangerous drugs in Orange <br />County by 5%. The comparison will be made by match- <br />ing 1974 statistics with 1973 statistics. <br /> <br />2. Develop an operational I~arcotlcs Intelligence Net- <br /> work in conjunction with DALE. <br /> <br />Increase the quality of arrests and improve the ratio <br />of convictions to arrests for illegal narcotics and <br />restricted dangerous drug offenses. <br /> <br />4. Increase the coordi-nation and cooperation to exchange <br /> information within each individual agency and among <br /> local, state, and f~d~ral agencle~ in the reduction <br /> of illegal narcotics and restricted dangerous drug <br /> offenses. Second year imput'by member agencies will be <br /> co'm~red with firs~ .year imput. <br /> <br />5. Cooperate with health care delivery services in the <br /> area of drug abuse prevention and treatment resources. <br /> <br />6. Participate at all levels in a comprehensive uniform <br /> naccotic enforcement training program. <br /> <br />Impact on those crimes related to the sale a~d use of <br />narcotics and restricted dangerous drugs. Impact to b~ <br />drawn by comparison of yearly statistics. <br /> <br />Determine the precipitating causes (probable cause) <br />leading to the initial contact and. subsequent arrest <br />of the individuals. <br /> <br />9. Harcotic Traffickiug <br /> <br />Impact: The Task Force concentrates on locating major <br />supplic~r~ and distributors of illicit: drugs,'loc~tin~j <br />and seizing any clandestine laboratories manufacturing <br />or cultivnting illicil drugs L~nd narc'otics; assJ~ting <br />local police agenci(~s in initiating, investigating and <br />apprehending narcotic and ~lrug violators (i.e. street <br />pushers and users); steill t~le flow o[ drugs into the <br />County through a coordinc~ted effort with re, doral , StaLe <br />oild oth(~r County enforcement agencies by apprehending <br />inter-jurisdictional ~r;~f f ick(~rs. <br /> <br /> <br />
