Inc.: <br /> <br />Motor Cultivator Co.: <br />delivery 30 days <br /> <br />Net cost to City $530.00 <br />Net cost to City $~36~00 <br />Net cost to City $700.00 <br /> <br />Terms net 30 days; <br /> <br />On recommendation of the Assistant to the Manager and on motion of Councilman Dahl, <br />seconded by Jerome and carried, the bid of Groff Garden Equipment, at a net cost of <br />$530.00 was accepted and all~ other bids rejected. <br /> <br />A tabulation of bids was presented by the Assistant to the Manager for the painting <br />of the exterior of the Community Center Building, in accordance with Specification <br />No. 381-1, as follows: <br /> <br />Clayton Autry: In the sum of $3,400.00. <br />Earl E. ~tthews: In the sum of $5,400.00. <br />John R. Sargent: In the ~ of $5,690.00. <br /> <br />On recommendation of the Assistant to the Manager and on motion of Councilman Dahl, <br />seconded by Jerome and carried, the bid of Clayton Autry, in the sum of $3,400.00 <br /> <br />was accepted and all other bids rejected. <br /> <br />The Assistant to the Manager recommended that the opening date for the bids for <br /> <br />the construction of First Street plant reservoir and pumping plant, September 17th, <br /> <br />1956, be delayed one week in order that an addendum may be added, a report to be <br /> <br />made to the Council October 1st. On motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded 'by Heinly <br /> <br />and carried, the recommendation was approved and the one week's delay granted. <br /> <br />Communication was read from the P~a~ning Commission recommending approval to permit <br />the Shell Oil Company to erect a double-face, interior-illuminated sign on property <br />at 1302 North Grand Avenue, subject to certain conditions. John W. Dykstra, 1R64 <br /> <br />East 14th Street~ objected to the ill~nination and size of the sign. On motion of <br />Councilman Dahl, seconded by Heinly and carried, the recommendation of the Planning <br />Commission was approved and the variance of Shell 0il Cumpany granted with the con- <br />dition that sign shall be steady and non-flashing and subject to the conditions as <br /> <br />imposed by the Commission with the exception of the 500' limitation. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman DabS, seconded by Jerome and carried, the recommendation of <br /> <br />the Planning Commission was approved and the variance of Joseph R. and Jessie T. <br /> <br />Hoover gr~ted to permit the construction of a duplex on rear part of lot at 1312 <br /> <br />Durant Street. <br /> <br />Cashier's check in the sum of $400.00. <br /> <br />Tenper cent bond. <br /> <br />Ten per cent bond. <br /> <br /> <br />
