No. 56-248 <br />Establish red zone <br />E.side Cubbon btn <br />Main and Cypress <br /> <br /> On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Dahl and carried, the plans and specifi. <br /> cations were approved and the Purchasing Agent authorized to advertise for bids for <br /> the construction of sanitary sewers on English Street from 15th to 17th Streets and <br /> on l~th Street from Flower to Greenleaf Streets; bids to be opened October 1st, <br /> Communication was read from the Department of Public Works recommending the release <br /> of $82,000.00 bond filed by M.J.Brock & Sons, Inc., on Tract No. 2208, providing a <br /> new bond in the amount of $~2,000.00 is filed to guarantee the completion of the <br /> improvements. It was moved by Councilman D~hl, seconded by Jerome and carried, <br /> that the Company be advised that at the time they have completed one-half of the <br /> improvements involved, the Council will be in favor of reducing the bond. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman D~hl, seconded by Jerome ~nd c~rried, the communications <br />from the Board of Supervisors grouting the request of the City to consolidate the <br />Special Library Bond Election with the General Election to be held November 6th, <br />1~56, and advising that the matter of the purchase by the City of property adjacent <br />to Santiago Park has been referred to the County Counsel, were received and filed. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by Jerome and carried, Appendix 'A' of <br /> before the Public Utilities Commission, <br />Decision No. ~7907 of application of Pacific Greyhound Lines/for authority to <br /> <br />operate bus service over an alternate route between junction of U.S. Highway lO1 <br />and First Street east of Santa Aha, and junction of relocated U.S.Highway lO1 and <br />Laguna Road, southeast of Tustin, was received and filed. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by Jerome and carried, the applications <br /> <br />of Joe England, Gerald J. Earley and Carl White to drive taxicabs, were granted. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by Jerome and carried, the notifications of <br />the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control of beverage applications of Louise M. <br />Libertuci, aka Louise M. Liberty and Frank Pa]mesino, Jr., 819 S. Main Street, <br />Muriel E. and Willism S. Flesch, 1002 Orange Avenue and Flora E. Pinnix, 2037 S. <br />Main Street, were received and filed. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman D~/~l, seconded by Jerome and carried, proper officials were <br />authorized to execute lease with County Sanitation Districts of Orange County for <br />the leasing of. rooms 233 to 239, both inclusive, for a term of thirty months, <br />beginning October 1st, 1956 and ending M~orch 31~t, 1959, at a rental of $282.00 per <br />month. <br /> <br />It was moved by Councilman DaD_l, seconded by Heinly and carried, that the request <br />the Airborne Club for permission to conduct a public dance October 2hth, 1956, at <br />the American Legion Hall, from 8:00 P.M. to 12:00 P.M. be received and filed and as <br />no permit is required, the Clerk was instructed to direct a letter to the Club <br />thanking them for their cooperation. <br /> <br />On recommendation of the curb usage committee and on motion of Councilman Dahl, <br />seconded by Jerome a~d carried, the request of Warner's Garage, 410 W. Fifth Street <br />for a 57' driveway at the rear entrance to the garage on Birch Street, was denied. <br />On recommendation of the curb usage committee and on motion of Councilman <br />seconded by Jerome and carried, the request of L.F.Slabaugh for a one-hour parking <br />limit on the north side of E. Cubbon Street between Main Street and the alley, was <br />denied. The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Resolution, on <br />motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by Jerome and carried, the following Resolution <br />entitled: <br /> <br /> "Resolution No. 56-248 concerning parking limitations and curb <br /> markings in accordance therewith" <br /> <br /> <br />
