Larsen was <br />appointed as a member of the Charles W. Bowers Memorial Muse~u Board, to fill the <br />unexpired term of Harry L. Hanson; term to expire March 19th~ 1~60. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman ~arkel, seconded by Dahl and carried, the copy of the <br />Resolution adopted by the Board of Supervisors, September 25th, 1956, giving notice <br />of intention to sell to the City certain real property along Santiago Creek north- <br />east of Santiago Park, was received and filed. <br /> <br />On recommendation of the Manager and on motion of Councilman Dahl~ seconded by <br />Markel and carried, the Purchasing Agent was authorized to advertise for the <br />ing of plant mix, in accordance with Specification No. 488-6; bids to be opened <br />October 15th~ 1956. <br /> <br />On recommendation of the ~'4anager and on motion of Councilman Dahl~ seconded by <br />Jerome and carried~ the Purchasing Agent was authorized to advertise for radio- <br />telephone equipment~ in accordance with Specification No. 654-2; bids to be opened <br />October 15th~ 1956. <br /> <br />On recommendation of the Manager and on motion of Councilman Dahl~ seconded by <br />Jerome and carried~ the Purchasing Agent was authorized to advertise for the con- <br />struction of sanitary sewers on Nineteenth Street and on Eaglish Street; bids to <br />be opened October 15th~ 1956. <br /> <br />On recommendation of the Manager and on motion of CounciLman Dal~l~ seconded by <br /> <br />Jerome and carried~ the plans ~d. specifications were approved and the Purchasing <br /> for the <br />Agent authorized to advertis~construction of public restrooms on the Eighth Street <br /> <br />property, to be known later as Artesia Park) b~ds to be opened October 15th, 195~. <br />Communication was read from the Chamber of Commerce relative to the construction of <br />bridges and highway facilities connecting Santa Ana with the county area to the <br />and on motion of Councilman Dabl~ seconded by Heinly and carried, the communication <br />was received and filed. <br /> <br />The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of <br />Councilman Dahl~ seconded by Heinly and carried~ the followi~ Resolution entitled: <br /> <br /> "Resolution No. 56-255 requesting the Board of Supervisors to <br /> i~prove highway facilities on east-west roads entering the <br /> County seat" <br /> <br />was considered and passed by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes, Councilmen Dale H. Heinly~ J. Ogden Markel, <br /> Milford W. Dahl, Courtney R. Chandler <br />Noes, Councilmen William Jerome <br />Absent~ Councilmen None <br /> <br />The Manager requested that the 1956-57 Budget be amended by transferring the stun of <br />$425.00 from Fund 23-278-~21 to Fund 23-275-321te pay for janitorial services on <br />public school facilities. It was moved by Councilman Dahl~ seconded by Heinly and <br />carried~ that the transfer of funds be approved. <br /> <br />The Manager reported that the Board of Education entered into a new agreement with <br />Ed Hall for the dewlopn~nt of property on Standar~ Avenue north of Edinger and <br />s~ested that the City enter into a new agreement with Mr. Hall to vacate the City <br />property and have the trees removed by June 30th, 1957. On motion of Councilman <br />Dahl, seconded by Heinly and carried, proper officials were authorized to enter <br />into proposed agreement. <br /> <br /> <br />
