FEATURES OF THE PLAN <br /> <br /> In the Santa Ana General Plan, the Scenic Corridors Plan <br />makes provision for scenic amenities and recommends steps to <br />create an identity for the City of Santa Ana both within its <br />municipal boundaries and from its abutting cities. The Plan <br />is based on linking a series of public and private facilities <br />producing a desired image. The Plan, therefore, focuses upon <br />particular areas such as~linear corridors, i.e., Santa Aha River, <br />railroad rights of way, etc., and scenic improvement of local <br />and arterial roadways throughout the City in setting forth the <br />comprehensive policy statements. The primary features of the <br />Plan consist of: <br /> <br /> - Linkages to parks, open spaces and schools within the <br /> City, <br /> <br /> - Boulevard and parkway development along major arterials, <br /> <br /> - Urban entrar~es and 'identity points within the City, <br /> <br /> - The State freeway system, <br /> <br /> - The major flood control channels, Santa Aha River and <br /> Santiago Creek, <br /> <br /> - Railroad and utility rights of way, and <br /> <br /> - The Bicycle Plan for the City. <br /> <br /> The Scenic Corridor <br />location recommendations, <br />design proposals presented and adopted in the 1967 <br /> <br />Plan provides guidelines and generalized <br />and reaffirms several of the urban <br /> <br /> <br />
