<br />On motion of Councilman Heinly, seconded by Markel and carried, the Purchasing Agent was
<br />authorized to advertise for bids for the construction of pavement on Tenth Street from
<br />Artesia to Townsend Streets, on Townsend Street frc~ Eighth to Tenth Streets and on
<br />Street, w~st of Artesia Street 160 feet; bids to be opened November 19th, 19~6.

<br />On motion of Col/ncflm-n Heinly, seconded by Markel and carried, the Purchasing Agent was
<br />authorized to advertise for bids for an addition to Headquarters Fire Department; bids
<br />to be opened November 19th, 1956.

<br />On rec~ndation of the Deparl~ent of Public Works and on motion of Councilman Heinly~
<br />seconded by Mark~l and carried, the request of James M. Montg~.~ry, Consulting k~-gtneer,
<br />on behalf of Bovee -~ Crail Construction Ccml~uy, Contractor, for an extension of
<br />to December 1st, 1956, for the cempletion of the Bristol Street Pumping Plant, was

<br />extension of time be granted to Gallegos Company on the additional store ro~a being
<br />at the Bowers ~rial Museum. On motion of Coune~m-~ Markel, seconded by Hetnly and
<br />carried, au extension of two weeks time from the date of termination of contract, for
<br />the completion of the work, was granted.

<br />On motion of Collncllman Heiuly, seconded by Markel aud carried, the petition signed by
<br />ninety persons requesting that sidewalks be installed fre~ Washington Avenue to
<br />
<br />Street, on Bristol Street, and also that the ten foot easement be kept clear of fences,
<br />hedges, shrubbery, etc., wes refe~-~-~d to the Manager for report.

<br />On motion of ~ounctlm-~ M~rkel, seconded by Heinly and carried, the Vice-Mayor was
<br />authorized to e~euute Lease No. GS-O9B-4~8, dated May 14th, 1956, with General Services
<br />Administration, Public Buildings Service, District Office, for the rental of Rooms 212
<br />and 213 at the ~-.=i.-tty Center Building, for the term beginning July 1st, 1956 and
<br />ending June 30th, 1957.

<br />On motion of Counctlm-- He~m]y, seconded by Markel and carried, proper officials were
<br />authorized to e~ecute agreement dated November 5th~ 1956 with B. Truman Martin, for the
<br />installation of two poles, and a string of lights which will be over and upon the City
<br />street ea~nt at 1206 West First ~treet.

<br />It was moved by Counc~lm-n Heiuly, seconded by Markel and carried, that action be
<br />deferred until the next meeting on the requests of the Northwest Santa Aha Homeowners
<br />Association, Inc., Mrs. Georgia M. Bradley, 309 East Wa~-,At Street and Pacific Telephone
