<br /> sion and report of the Boundary C~,! ssion were presented on the proposed ennexation of
<br /> approximately 5.04~ acres, situated appre~mately 2641.92 feet west and 3~0 feet north of
<br /> the intersection of the center lines of Edinger and Bristol Streets. On motion of Oounc
<br /> man Markel, seconded by Neinly and carried, said docl~nents were received and filed.

<br /> The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of Council
<br /> m_~_ Ne~nly, seconded by ~arkel and carried, the following Resolution entitled:

<br /> "Resolution No. 56-282 giving notice of proposed ,~exation to the
<br /> City of Santa Ana of that certain uninhabited territory described
<br /> herein and designated 'Edinger School Annex', and giving notice of
<br /> time and place for hearing of protests thereto"
<br />
<br /> was considered and passed by the following vote:

<br /> Noes, Councilmen None
<br /> Absent, Councilmen Milford W. Dahl

<br /> On motion of Councilman Reinly, seconded by Markel and carried, the c.--;m..Auicationa
<br />
<br /> the Boundary ~;~..~1 ssion reference proposed aunexations of territories to the City of
<br /> Garden Grove, Annexations Nos. 7 and 8, and advising that the boumt-ries of the proposed
<br /> --~exations are reasonably definite and certain, were received and filed.
<br />
<br />On motion of Counctlm~ Heinly, seconded by Markel and carried, the ~inutes from the
<br />Board of Supervisors and report of the County ~u~weyor and Road ~issioner reference
<br />proposed improvement of certatn roads entering the City of Santa Aha on the west, were
<br />received and filed.
<br />
<br />C~Anication was read from ~he Department of Public Works advis!ng that a portion of the
<br />required sidewalk on the l~cOrd of Survey Map, sul~nitted by S.A.Southard, at East
<br />
<br />Place and Grace Street, has been campleted and rec.-~a~nded the return of a portion of hi
<br />cash bond in the s~ of $280.00. ' On motion of Councilman Reinly, seconded by Markel and
<br />carried, the rec~w~udation was approved and a portion of the cash bond, in the st~ of
<br />$280.00, was ordered released.

<br />On motion of COllBCilma~ ~rk~l, seconded by Reinly and carried, the c.~..,,.~u~cation from
<br />the Church of the Palms ex-pressing their thanks for pemission to solicit funds and the
<br />'use of sound equipment October 16th and the last week in November and the first three and
<br />one-half weeks in December, was received and filed.
<br />
<br />Communication was read from Walter D. Webb, Los Angeles, expressing his appreciation for
<br />the fine traffic control system in effect in Santa Aha, and on motion of Councilman
<br />M~rkel, seconded by Heinly and carried, the cc~mmdnication was received, filed and the
<br />Clerk directed to acknowledge the c~m, unication.

<br />On motion of Councilman N~inly, seconded by Markel and carried, the application of ~ack
<br />Fisher Chapter 23, Disabled American Veterans, for pemission to solicit funds and sell
<br />forget-me-nots, November 9th and 10th, 1956, was granted.
<br />
<br />On motion of Counc~lm-~ Heinly, seconded by Markel and carried, the plans and specifi-
<br />cations were approved for the construction of pavement on Tenth Street, frc~ Artesia to
<br />Townsend, on Townsend Street from Eighth to Tenth Streets and on Ninth Street, west of
<br />Artesia Street 160 feet.
