<br /> Communication was read from the Planning Commission submitting Resolution No. 1073 recom-
<br /> mending the reclassification of property located on the east side of Sycamore Street and
<br /> the west side of Cypress Avenue, from Walnut Street to Delhi Road, from R-2 and
<br /> Districts to P-PK District, and modify the existing C-1 and C-2 Districts in said area,
<br /> by the addition thereto, of PK, reference Con~ission initiated amendment application.
<br />
<br /> On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Markel and carried, a notice was ordered pub-
<br /> lished setting the date of public hearing on December ~rd, 1956.
<br />
<br /> William Lowe, Jr., a West Fourth Street merchant, requested the Council to reconsider its
<br /> action in prohibiting parking on Main Street from W~lnut Street to Tenth Street, from
<br /> December ~rd, 1956 to January 5th, 1957, as the merchants do 25% of their volv~ne business
<br /> during the holiday season and the prohibition of parking on Main Street would mean a loss
<br /> of sixty-eight stalls. It was moved by Oounc~lman Jex~, s~eonded by Taylor and carried
<br /> that the action taken by the Council at the meeting held November 5th, 1956, prohibiting
<br /> parking on Main Street from Walnut Street to Tenth Street, between 7:00 A.M. to 10:00
<br /> be rescinded and the Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Resolution, the
<br /> following Resolution entitled:
<br />
<br /> "Resolution No. 56-285 rescinding Resolution No. 56-2~3 which prohibited
<br /> parking on parts of Main Street"
<br />
<br /> was considered and passed by the following vote:
<br />
<br /> Ayes, Councilmen Dale R. Reinly, J. Ogden Markel, William Jerome,
<br /> Tilghman A. Taylor, Milford W. D~b~
<br /> Noes, Councilmen None
<br /> Absent, Councilmen None

<br /> Stanley C. Gould, Jr., representing the Northwest Santa Aha l~=~owners Association, Inc.
<br /> requested that action be defe~*~d until December ~rd, 1956, on the requests for stop
<br /> signs at Alona and Santa Clara and Aloha and Twenty-first Street, and a traffic signal
<br /> at Bristol and Santa Clara Avenue. It was moved by Councilman Jerome, seconded by
<br /> and carried, that the matter be set for hearing on December 3rd, 1956.

<br />The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of Council
<br />man Mark~l, seconded by Jercm~ and carried, the following Resolution entitled:
<br />
<br /> "B2solution No. 56-286 concerning parking limitations and curb m~rkings
<br /> in accordance therel~ith"
<br />
<br />establishing a red zone on the east 79 feet located on the south side of First Street,
<br />between Broadway and Birch Street, reference request of Chris' Richfield Service Station
<br />was considered and passed by the following vote:

<br />On motion of Councilman Jerc~e, seconded by Markel and carried, Tentative Map of Tract N
<br />~105, submitted by Juanita Cannoy, of property located south of Fruit Street and north-
<br />east of the Santa Aha Freeway, and consisting of eleven lots, was approved.
<br />
<br />The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of Council
<br />man Jerome, seconded by Reinly and carried, the following Resolution entitled:

<br /> "Resolution No. 56-287 declaring intention to establish setback
<br /> lines on Cypress Avenue south of Goetz Avenue"
<br />
