165 <br /> <br />Council Chamber <br />Santa Aha City Hall <br />Jan11~-y 2l, 1957. <br /> <br />7:30 P.M. <br /> <br />City Council met in regular session. <br />~eeting called to order by the M~yor. <br /> <br />Present: Councilmen D~le H. Heinly, J. Ogden Markel, William Jerome, <br /> Tilghman A. Taylor, Milford W. D~ <br />Absent: Councilmen None <br /> <br />Each member of the City Council having received copies of the Minutes of <br />January 7th, 1957, reading of the Minutes was dispensed with and approved <br />on motion of Counei~man Eeinly, seconded by Jerome and carried. <br /> <br />Hearing <br />"Delhi and Newport <br />Anr~x" ~ ~ ?~ <br /> <br />This being the date set for the continued hearing of protests on annexation to the <br />City of certain uninhabited territory designated "Delhi and Newport Annex", the <br /> <br />Clerk read protests from the Irvine Company and Santa Fe ~nd Improvement Company. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Heinly, seconded by Markel and carried, the protests were <br /> <br />received and filed. It was moved by Counc~]m~ Heinly, seconded by Jerome and <br /> <br />carried, that it is determined that more than 50~ of the ownership of the territory <br /> <br />Awards of Junior <br />Chamber of Co~mnerce <br /> <br />has protested and no further proceedings sh~11 be taken. <br /> <br />William D. Winterbourne, President, Junior Chamber of Commerce, presented plaques <br />to ~ayor Dabl and to the Council, c~m~ending the Council for the efficient manner <br />in which they reach decisions and extended the Chamber's gratitude and appreciation <br />for the benefits which have ~ccrued from a most cordial relationship, and personA.~ ly <br /> <br />complimented Mayor Dahl upon the excellent Job he is doing as Mayor. <br /> <br /> <br />
