<br /> Moulton granted to permit conversion of existing one-story block-wall house on
<br /> property at 1510 Grand Avenue, into a store building to be used for a retail
<br /> business of hardware and paint, with a 6' x 3' neon sign, subject to two conditions.
<br /> On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Heinly and carried, the recommendation
<br /> of the Planning Commission was approved and the variance of New-port H~mes Surety
<br />
<br /> Development Company granted to permit the erection of temporary directional signs
<br /> instead of the 20' x 15' sign,
<br /> as follows: one double-face 10' x 20' sigmA/as requested, seven double-face 3' x 4'i
<br />
<br /> signs and five double-face 3' x 4' signs, at stated locations, and to establish a
<br /> sales office, in a model hnme, on lmroperty on the west side of Fairview Road, approx~
<br /> imately 600' northerly of the intersection of Harvard Street and Fairview Road, and :
<br /> on property on the east side of Fairview Road Just opposite the above described
<br /> property, subject to conditions.

<br /> On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Reinly and carried, the recommendation
<br /> of the Pl,nning Cnmmission was approved and the variance of Nerbert L. Johnson
<br /> granted to permit the use of the rear 48.50' portion of property at 2207 Victoria
<br /> Drive, for off-street parking in connection with adjoining P-District property on
<br /> Broadway.

<br /> On motion of Councilman Heinly, seconded by Markel and carried, the recommendation
<br /> of Harry M. K~lso
<br /> of the Planning Commission was approved and the request/granted for an extension
<br />
<br /> of time Of one year from September 16, 1956, on variance granted September 16, 1955,1
<br /> permitting the erection of temporary directional signs and temporary real estate
<br /> office in Tract No. 2248, at Bristol Street and Fairview Avenue, subject to conditic~a
<br /> that two bonds be furnished, in amount of $100.00 each, to guarantee removal of the
<br /> signs at the expiration of one year.
<br />
<br />It was moved by Counc~m-= Heinly, seconded by Jerome and carried, that escrow
<br />instructions be approved and signed with Inez and Frances Lopez, for property on the
<br />southwest corner of West Eighth Street and Artesia Park, in the sum of $6,000.00.
<br />On motion of Councilman Heinly, seconded by Markel and carried, Preliminary Me4~ of
<br />Wright Ltd., on property located on the west side of Spurgeon Street, at the Freeway~
<br />and consisting of three lots, was approved subject to the conditions of the Depart-
<br />ment of Public Works.
<br />
<br />On motion of Councilman Fminly, seconded by Jerome and carried, Revised Tentative
<br />Map of Tract No. 1960, of John L. Nobles, on property located on the easterly side
<br />of King Street, from Ninth to Tenth Streets, and consisting of appro×~m~tely 6.64
<br />acres, divided into twenty~ight lots, was approved with the exception of the sewers
<br />which must be located in accordance with the requirements of the Department of
<br />Public Works.

<br />The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of
<br />Councilman Heinly, seconded by Markel and carried, the following Resolution entitledi:

<br />from Inez and Frances Lopez, for property on the southwest corner of West Eighth
<br />Street and Artesia Park, in the sum of $6,000.00, was considered and passed by the
<br />
