<br />Chamber of Cow~erce, stated that members of the Chamber felt the proposed Ordinance
<br />was a good Ordinance and if it is abused, amendments may be enacted. It was moved
<br />by Councilman Markel, seconded by Jereme and carried, that the portion of the
<br />Ordinance be amended to change the wording "~00 square feet of floor space" to be
<br />maintained for dancing. On motion of Councilman Heinly, seconded by Jerome and
<br />carried, the matter was tabled. It was moved by Councilmmn Helnly, seconded by
<br />Jerome and carried, that the matter be brought up for first reading at the next
<br />regular meeting of the Council.

<br />On motion of Councilman Heinly, seconded by Jerome and carried~ the following
<br />Ordinance entitled:
<br />
<br /> "Ordinance ~m~nding Article IX of the Santa Aaa Municipal Code
<br /> creating changes in district bounSaries, and amending Sheet
<br /> No. 37 of the District~ng Map to show the reclassification"
<br />
<br />of property on the northwest corner of Bristol and W~lnut Streets, fr~n R-2 to the
<br />C-2-PK District, and the southwest corner of Bristol and Walnut Streets and the
<br />north side of Walnut Street west of Bristol Street to Pacific Avenue from R-2 to
<br />the C-1-PK District~ in accordance with amendment application of Nathan Rubaloff,
<br />et al, was introduced, considered and placed on file for second reading.
<br />
<br />The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Ordinance, on motion of
<br />Councilman Heinly, seconded by Markel and carried, the following Ordinance entitled:
<br />
<br /> "Ordinance No. NS-226 amending Article IX of the Santa Aaa Municipal
<br /> Code creating changes in district boundaries, and amending Sheets
<br /> No. 4 and 7 of the Districting Map to show the reclassification"
<br />
<br />of property located on the north side of Walnut Street from Maple Avenue to Cedar
<br />Street, from the R-3 District to the P-PK District, reference planning Commission
<br />initiated amendment, was considered and passed by the following vote:
<br />

<br /> Tilghman A. Taylor, Milford W.

<br />It was moved by Councilman Heialy, seconded by Jerome and carried, that the Council
<br />go on record of declaration of notice to dedicate that portion of the property on
<br />East First Street, owned by the City, being Prentice Park, that area extended from
<br />East First Street to Main Street, Tustin, from the east side of the present curb
<br />line of Mabury Street through the Park to the west property line of the Park to be
<br />dedicated for street purposes, on notice and when the Elk's Lodge dedicate a strip
<br />
<br />6 feet in width x-~-ning from East First Street to Main Street, Tustin, on their
<br />east property line for street and sidewalk purposes, and that said property shall
<br />be placed on a no lesser use than an R-3 zone whenever the Elk's Lodge mske their
<br />application for a zone change.
<br />
<br /> On motion of Counci~m~ Heinly, seconded by Jerome and carried, the request of
<br /> Ernest H. Winbigler was granted for an extension of one year in order to complete
<br /> the improvements on property on the southeast corner of E. 17th and Lincoln Streets,q
<br /> adjacent to the Santa Fe Railway main line and its 17th Street crossing, subject to
<br /> the existing agreement dated February 6, 1956.
<br />
<br /> On motion of Counci~,~n Markel, seconded by Jer~e and carried, the request of
<br /> Martin B. Weinberg, Vice-President, Temple Beth Sholom, was granted to sponsor a
<br /> concert and variety show to be held in the Municipal Bowl, the evening of either
<br />
<br /> N~y 18th or May 25th, at a fixed rental of $550.00.
<br />
<br /> Petitions were presented signed by 32~ owners of property requesting that proceedings
<br /> be initiated for an assessment district to pave strip between existing pavement and
<br /> new gutter, lay combination curb and gutter and sidewalk where needed on, Rousselle,
<br />
