Neinly, J. Ogden Markel, <br />William Jerome, Milford W. Dahl <br />None <br /> <br />Each member of the City Council having received copies of the Minutes of <br />February 18, 1957, reading of the Minutes was dispensed with and approved <br />on motion of Cou~cilm~n Heinly, seconded by Markel and carried. <br /> <br />Awaz~l certificates <br />of completion of <br />administrative training <br />course for Fire Dept. <br />personnel <br /> <br />The Manager congratulated the Command Group of the Fire Department, consisting of <br />thirteen Captains and one Battalion Chief, upon the completion of a comprehensive <br />training course in administrative leadership and fire suppression, which was takex <br />on their off-duty time. Fire Chief Garthe then introduced each man and made the <br /> <br />Continued hearing <br />Amendment - John L. Nobles <br /> <br />award of the certificates. <br /> <br />This being the date set for the continued hearing on the amendment application of <br />John L. Nobles, for the reclassification of au irregular shaped parcel of land con- <br />taining 6.83 acres on the east side of King Street between 9th and 10th Streets, <br />from R-1 to R-3 District, three persons stood in protest for the reason that the <br /> <br />reclassification would devaluate their properties. The applicant spoke in favor <br /> <br />of the reclassification. Councilman Heinly disqualified himself on the amendment <br /> <br />application of John L. Nobles. On motion of Cou~c~lm~ Jerome, seconded by Mark~l <br />and carried, the rec~-ndation of the Planning Commission was approved and the <br /> <br />Continued hearing <br />Amendment <br />B. L.Metcalf <br />Ordinance <br /> <br />amendment application of John L. Nobles denied. <br /> <br />This being the date set for the continued hearingsthe amendment application of B.L. <br />Metcalf was considered for the ~eclassification of property located on the west si~ <br />of North Main Street, beginning at a point 270' north and 216' west of the northeast <br /> <br />corner of the intersection of Owens Drive and North Main Street, thence north <br />485.63', thence west to the Santa Ana Freeway, thence southeasterly along the Santa <br />Ana Freeway to a point due west of the point of beginning, from the R-1 and R-2 <br /> <br />Districts to C-2- District. <br /> <br />_Three property owners inquired as to the street <br /> <br />plan for the shopping center. Mr. Gladstone, on behalf of the applicant, stated a <br />60' street would be considered-and a street at the north end of the property would <br />be of no benefit, but the subdivider would de~icate 30 feet if Bullock's would <br /> <br />dedicate 30 feet,fo? a service road on the southerly side of the property. On <br />motion of Counc~me~ Eeinly, seconded by Jerome and carried, the following Ordinanc~ <br /> <br />entitled: <br /> <br /> <br />
