Dahl <br />Noes, CounciLmen None <br />Absen% Councilmen None <br /> <br />A tabulation of bids was presented by the Manager for the furnishing of one <br /> <br />tower safety net for the Fire Department, in accordance w~th Specification No. 691- <br /> <br />as follows: <br /> <br />Atlas Safety Equi~nent Company, !nc. <br />Total cost $3,101.99 Delivery 60 days from date of order. <br />Bond in the sum of $311.00. <br /> <br />Albro Ffre Equipment Company: <br />Total cost $3,163.~7 Delivery 60 days from date of order. <br /> <br />10~ bond <br /> <br />On recommendation of the Mauager and on motion of Councilmen Jerome, seconded by <br /> <br />Markel and carried, the bid of Atlas Safety Equipment Company, Inc., in the sum of <br /> <br />$3,101.99 was accepted and the ether bid rejected. <br /> <br />Frank Celinas, Secretary of the Chamber of Commerce, orally requested the Council's <br /> <br />full endorsement and the adoption of a Resolution supporting the establishment of <br /> Central America. <br />a "People to People" program with the City of Santa ;~a, E1 Salvador_/ The Council <br /> <br />having ~imously waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of Councilman <br /> <br />Markel, seconded by Heinly and carried, the following Resolution entitled: <br /> <br />"Resolution No. 57-57 of the City of Santa Ann, California, <br /> U.S.A. endorsing and supporting the establishment of a <br /> 'People to People' Program with the City of Santa Aha, <br /> El Salvador" <br /> <br />was considered a~ud passed by the following vote: <br /> <br />Aye s, Councilmen <br /> <br />Noes, CounciLmen <br />Absent, Cou~uciLmen <br /> <br />Dale H. Heinly presented a merit certificate and a cash award to Miss <br /> <br />Ann Read, 204 East Washington Avenue, who was the outstanding driver of the month in <br /> <br />the Santa Aha Safe Driving Campaign. <br /> <br />Communication was read from the Planning Commission advising that consideration was <br /> <br />given to variance request of M.S.Bernard to permit the establishment of <br /> <br />office or offices for such uses as Insurance Adjusting~ Accounting, Insurance Sales, <br /> <br />Attorneys, and/or Commercial Artist's Studio, in existing residence at 510 South <br />Broadway, with off-street parking space for five cars, and recommended that the <br /> <br />variance be granted~ as requested~ limiting the offices to two, upon condition that <br /> <br />the applicaut comply with the provisions of the IMf Ordinance. It was moved by <br /> <br />Councilman Jerome s_ud seconded by Markel that the recommendation of the Planning <br /> <br />Commission be approved and variance granted subject to the condition. On motion <br /> <br />of Councilman Heir~ly, seconded by Jerome and carried, the motion was amended to <br /> <br />eliminate the requirement limiting the use to two offices. <br /> <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Markel, seconded by Heinly and carried, the recommendation <br /> <br />of the Planning Commission was approved and the variance of Lenney Homes, Inc., <br /> <br />granted to permit the erection of a temporary sign, not to exceed 10' x 20', <br /> <br />of the 12' x 28' sign, as requested, at 1520 East Grace Street, to advertise Cameo <br /> <br />Park Estates, the sign to remain for a maximum period of one year and subject to <br /> <br />the condition of filing a bond to guarantee the removal of the sign at the <br /> <br />of one year. <br /> <br /> James Gordon Vatcher, M. <br />Communication was read from the Planning Commission recommending approval to permi <br /> <br />the use of existing duplex building on property at 1518-20 North Grand Avenue, for <br />doctor's office, one or two doctors, with uhlighted sign not to exceed three square <br /> <br />feet and space for off-street parking of fifteen cars and subject to conditions of <br /> <br />Department of Public Works. It was moved by Councilman Heinly, seconded by Markel <br /> <br /> <br />
