253 <br /> <br />Advertise for bids <br />Gasoline, electric i~mps~ <br />concrete pipe and fittings <br />and gate valves <br /> <br />Plans and Specifications <br />Advertise for bids <br />Reconstruction of exist- <br />ing Lmprovements on <br />Santiago Avenue <br /> <br />Plans and Specifications <br />Advertise for bids <br />Street improvements on <br />Halladay qtreet <br /> <br />Board of ~upervisors <br />Establishing. speed <br />limit on a portion of <br />South Bristol Street <br /> <br />Boundary Conunission <br />City of Garden Grove <br />Annexation Nos. 22 and 23 <br /> <br />Boundary Conm~ission <br />City of Garden Grove <br />Annexation No. 24 <br /> <br />Condition of funds <br />statement - Diehl, <br />Evans <br /> and <br /> pom~any ~ <br /> <br />Application <br />Atchison, Topeka and <br />Santa Fe Railway Co. <br /> <br />Application <br />?.~rchants Patrol <br />Service <br /> <br />Taxicab driver's <br />applicatio~p <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Hall, seconded by Markel and carried, the Purchasing Agent ii <br />was authorized to advertise for the following items: <br /> <br />Gasoline requirements for the 1957-58 fiscal year, Specification 461-3; <br />Electric lamp requirements for the 1957-58 fiscal year, Specification 452-4; <br />Concrete pipe and fittings for use on Walnut and Parton Streets, near the First <br />Street Reservoir, Specification 481-9, and <br />Gate valves for the Water Department as follows: 15 each 4", 100 each 6", 25 each <br />8" and 25 each 12",Specification 664-3;bids to be opened June 3, 1957. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Hall, seconded by Markel and carried, the plans and specifi- <br />cations were approved and the Department of Public Works authorized to advertise fo~ <br />bids for the reconstruction of the existing improvements on Santiago Avenue from <br /> <br />Washington Avenue to Santiago Way; bids to be opened June 17, 1957. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Markel, seconded by Hubbard and carried, the plans and <br /> <br />specifications w~re approved and the Department of Public Works authorized to <br /> <br />advertise for bids for the construction of street pavement between existing valley <br />gutter, and reconstruction of 105' of curb and gutter on the west side of Halladay <br />Street between the center line of Dyer Road and approximately 1016' north; bids to <br />be opened June 17, 1957. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Hall and carried, the communication <br />frem the Board of Supervisors, with copy of Ordinance No. 956 establishing prima <br />facie speed limit of 40 miles per hour on a certain portion of South Bristol Street <br /> <br />from 650' south of Edinger to ll20' south of Edinger Street, lyin~ in the unincorpo- <br />rated territory of the County, were received and filed. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Gould, seconded by Hubbard and carried, the communication <br /> <br />from the Boundary Commission was received and filed advisiag of proposed annexation <br /> <br />of territory to the City of Garden Grove, Aunexations Nos. 22 and 23, between <br /> <br />Garden Grove Annexation No. 19 and 17 in the upper portion of No. ll, southwest of <br /> <br />Westminster Avenue and Wright Street and the Clerk was directed to notify <br /> <br />the City of Garden Grove that the City of Santa Ana objects to any annexation which <br /> <br />infringes upon the annexations now on file and being acted upon By the City. <br /> <br />On motion, of Councilman Gould, seconded by Hubbard and carried, the communication <br /> <br />from the Boundary Commission was received and filed advising of proposed annexation <br />of territory to the City of Garden Grove, Annexation No. 24, being on the southwest <br />corner of Trask and Berryd~]e Avenues, and the Clerk was directed to notify the <br />City of Garden Grove that the City of Santa Ana objects to any annexation which <br />infringes upon the annexations now on file and being acted upon by the City. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Gould, seconded by Hubbard and carried, the report of Diehl, <br /> <br />Evans and Company submitting a condition of funds statement for the six months <br /> <br />ended December 31, 1956, was received and filed. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Markel and carried, the application of <br /> <br />the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway Company, before the Public Utilities <br /> <br />Commission, for authority to reduce its passenger train service between Los Angeles, <br /> <br />San Diego and certain intermediate points by discontinuing Trains No. 2/71 and No. <br /> <br />2/72, was received and filed. <br /> <br />On r~commendation of the Police Department and on motion of Councilman Gould, <br /> <br />seconded by Markel and carried, the application of Donald E. Brown to engage in <br /> <br />merchants patrol service, was denied. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Gould, seconded by Hubbard and carried, the applications of <br />Harold P. Thomas, James F. Worthen, Jr., Willard A. Martin, Opal D. Meredith, Frank <br />J. Perry, Jr., Wanda M. Dunkin and Edna J. Kilcoyne, to drive taxicabs, were <br /> <br />approved and permits granted. <br /> <br /> <br />
