<br />On recormaendation of the Manager and on motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by

<br />Markel and carried, the bid of Pacific States Cast Iron Pipe Company was accepted

<br />for the furnishing of 15 - 4" Gate Valves, in the sum of $464.85; the bid of Ludlow
<br />
<br />Valve Manufacturing Co. Inc., was accepted for the furnishing of 1OO - 6", 25 - 8",
<br />
<br />and 25 - 12" Gate Valves, in the sum of $10,108.00, and the other bids were rejecteR.

<br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Hall and carried, the Clerk was author-
<br />
<br />ized to open the one bid for the publication of legal notices and other matters
<br />
<br />required by law to be published, for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1957 and
<br />ending June 30, 1958, as follows:

<br />First insertion, Saturday only, $1.35 per inch. Any other day $1.85 per inch.
