Vose, which was <br />originally granted January 5, 1953, for a period of three years (1-5-5~ to 1-5-56); <br /> <br />and renewal granted on September 26, 1955, for one and one-half year (1-5-56 to 7-5- <br /> period. <br />5,,7)t to operate a real estate office at 1320 Memory Lane, was extended for a two yea_~r/ <br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Markel and carried, the recommendation <br />of the Planning Commission was approved and the variance of Morris and Gloria Glasser <br />granted to permit conversion of an existing residence on property at 710 Spurgeon <br />Street, into an office for Certified Public Accountant, to be occupied by three <br />persons, subject to conditions of the Commission and the Department of Public Works. <br />A letter was read from Mr. and Mrs. Glasser agreeing to the conditions. <br /> <br />Communication was read from the Planning Commission recommending denial of variance <br />application of Church of Religious Science of Santa Ana to permit the use of garage <br />on church property at 1209 Spurgeon Street, for a thrift shop in connection with the <br /> <br /> Church. On motion of Councilman Hall, seconded by Gould and carried, the recom- <br /> <br />mendation of the Planning Commission was approved and the variance denied. <br /> <br /> On motion of Councilman Gould, seconded by Hubbard and carried, the recommendation <br /> of the Planning Commission was approved and the variance of Santa Ana Savings and <br /> Loan Association granted to permit the use of property at 1419 North Sycamore <br /> <br /> Street, for off-street parking for customers and employees, and also for customers <br /> of restaurant now located on the east portion of the property fronting on North Main <br /> Street, with exit and entrance to be provided on Fifteenth and Sycamore Streets, <br /> subject to conditions of the Department of Public Works. <br /> <br />Communication was read fram the Planning Commission recommending approval of varianc~ <br />application of A1 N. Zale to permit the erection of a 25' x 60' one-story metal <br />building, on property at 1668 East Palm Street, to be used for the receiving and <br />storage of food st~ffs for distribution to food catering trucks, subject to conditio~ <br />of the Commission that the applicant comply with the provisions of the PK Ordinance, ~ <br />but the Commission did not concur in the conditions as imposed by the Department of <br />Public Works. Norman Lee Harvey~ representing the applicant, objected to the con- <br />ditions as set forth by the Department of Public Works. It was moved by Councilman <br />Hall, and seconded by Hubbard that the variance of A1 N.
