<br /> It was moved by Counci]~an Gould., seconded by Hubbard and carried, that action be
<br /> continued until the next meeting on the Ordinances prohibiting diagonal parking on
<br /> the north side of Washington Avenue between ~,~in and Sycamore Streets; obstruction
<br /> to .~mmht distance at intersections and establishing angle parkin6 on certain streets.
<br /> -~Marjorie Condon, 6~0 Linwood Avenue, orally inquired as to whether the City of Santa
<br /> ;ma has any reg~lation requiring signs to be posted in regard to the riding of
<br /> bicycles on the sidewalks and streets, and on motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded
<br /> by Hall and carried, the matter ~s referred to the Manager for reco:muendation and
<br /> to report to the inquirer the results of the investigation.

<br /> On motion of Councilman Gould, seconded by Hall and carried, the communication from
<br /> Harry McQuigg reference easing of the enforcement of traffic regulations, was
<br /> received, filed and referred to the Manager.
<br />
<br /> On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Markel and carried, proper officials
<br /> were authorized to execute lease with the Visiting Nurses Association of Orange
<br /> County, Inc., for rental of Rooms 214 and 215 at 1104 West 8th Street, beginning
<br /> February 1, 1957 and ending July 31, 1959, at a rental of $51.~0 per month.
<br />
<br /> On motion of Councilman Markel, seconded by Hubbard and carried, 'the communications
<br /> from Gates W. Burrows, Architect, urging that local Architects be given consideration
<br /> for the development of a Civic Center, and augmenting his statements made on June
<br />
<br />3rd setting fo~%h the three most common methods of pa)ment based upon the cumulative
<br />experience of Architects,were ,~ceived and filed.
<br />
<br />On motion of Councilman Markel, seconded by Gould and carried, the petition for
<br />annexation signed by Antone and Anna A. Borchard, and communication from the Boundary
<br />Commission advising that the boundaries of the proposed "Delhi and Bristol S. W.
<br />Annex", to the City of Santa ~tna, are reasonably definite and certain, %~re received
<br />and. filed.
<br />
<br />The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of
<br />Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Markel and carried, the following Resolution entitled:
<br />
<br /> "Resolution No. ~7-165 giving notice of proposed annexation to the
<br /> City of Santa Aha of that certain uninhabited territory described
<br /> herein and designated 'Delhi and Bristol S. W. Annex', and giving
<br /> notice of time and place for hearing of protests thereof"
<br />
<br />was considered and passed by the following vote:

<br />On motion of Councilman Markel, seconded by Hall and carried, the communication from
<br />the Chamber of Commerce was received and filed commending the Santa Aha Police Pistol
<br />Team for winning permanent possession of the Orange County Peace Officers Trophy in
<br />competition with other Cities in the County. On motion of Councilman ~arkel,
<br />seconded by Gould and carried, the Clerk was instructed to write a letter to the
<br />Chief of Police, on behalf of the City Council, commending the Santa Ana Police
<br />Pistol
<br />
<br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Markel and carried, the bond of Emmet
<br />
<br />C. Rogers, filed for the improvements of eleven lots on Westwood Avenue and Santa
<br />Clara Avenue, in Tract No. 3141, in the sum of $8,300.00, was ordered released and
<br />improvements accepted as completed.
<br />
<br />On motion of Councilms~ ~arkel, seconded by Gould and carried, the request of Stephen
<br />M. Harvey to purchase the K Y Billiard Parlor at ~K)3 West Fourth Street~ formerly
<br />o%rned by Harry Drentel, was granted and the transfer of City license approved.
