Hubbard <br /> <br />The Manager stated the President of the Library Board indicated that it will be <br /> <br />necessary to make an additional opening through the wall on the mezzanine floor on <br /> <br />the west interior wall of the new Library Building and requested approval of the <br /> <br />Council to permit amendments to the Preliminary Plan. It was moved by Counc~lm~u <br /> <br />Markel, seconded by Hubbard and carried, that the Council approve changes in the <br /> <br />Preliminary Plan of the Library building which may be necessary, frc~ time to time, <br /> <br />Negotiations with United <br />States Government to <br />purchase property <br /> <br />in accordance with the approval of the Library Board. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Mark~l, seconded by Hubbard and carried, the Manager was <br />authorized to negotiate with the United States Government for the purchase of the <br />northeast corner of the property now being used by the Federal Cce~unications <br /> <br />Approve Specifications <br />for examinations <br /> <br />Commission on the south side of Edinger Street for a Fire Station site. <br /> <br />On recommendation of the M~ger and on motion of Councflman Hubbard, seconded by <br /> <br />Markel and carried, the specifications for the scheduling of examinations for <br /> <br />Letter to Annexation <br />Committee of Chamber <br />of Commerce <br /> <br />Director of Recreation and Parks and for Associate Civil ~ngineer, were approved. <br />It was moved by Councilman Gould, seconded by Markel and carried, that a letter be <br />directed to the Annexation Committee of the Chamber of Commerce, under the signatu~ <br />of the Mayor, expressing the Council's appreciation for the Committee's tireless <br /> <br />efforts in the work accomplished on the North of ~ltzer and South of Smeltzer <br /> <br />Annexations, and to explore the possibility of areas being annexed to the City if <br /> <br />Concessions in <br />City Parks~ <br /> <br />the residents and owners of property therein are favorable to coming into the City. <br /> <br />It was moved by Councilman Gould, seconded by Hubbard and carried, that the Manager <br /> <br />submit a report to the Council on JUly 15, 1957, in regard to permitting concession~ <br /> <br />in Memorial Park and other parks and to determine the financial advantages to the <br /> <br />Lease - County of <br />Orange; Library <br /> <br />City. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, secosded by Markel and carried, proper officials <br />were authorized to execute lease date~ July l, 1957 with the County of Orange, for <br />rental of certain rooms at ll04 West Eighth Street, for use of the Orange County <br /> <br />Library. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Gould, seconded by Hubbard and carried, the City Council <br /> <br /> adjourned. <br /> <br />Mayor of the City of Santa <br /> <br />Clerk of the Council <br /> <br /> <br />
