<br />On recommendation of the Manager and on motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by
<br />
<br />Gould and carried, the bid of Leo Weiler Company in the amount of $62,562.10 was
<br />
<br />accepted and all other bids rejected.

<br />This being the date set for the opening of bids for the sale of the Fire Station
<br />
<br />Building, 1322 North Sycamore Street, the Clerk stated no bid~ had been received.
<br />.
<br />Communication was read of the Planning Commission recommending denial of variance
<br />
<br />application of Melvin O'Neal to permit a decrease in front setback requirements
<br />
<br />from 50 feet to 38 feet, in order to construct an addition to existing dwelling on
<br />
<br />property at 939 West Pine Street, in an R-2 ~istrict. On motion of Councilman
<br />
<br />Gould, seconded by Hubbard and carried, the recmmmendation of the Commtesionwas
<br />
<br />approved and the variance denied.

<br />Communication was read of the Planning Commission recommem~iing denial of variance

<br />application of Lola L. Raupe to permit conversion of existing two-room building
<br />
<br />attached to garage, situated on the rear part of lot at 1129 South Flower Street,
<br />
<br />into a living ....

<br />front part of the lot. On motion of Councilman Gould, seconded by Hubbard and car-!

<br />ried, the reco~endation of the Commission was approved and the variance denied.
<br />Ccmmunication was read of the Planning Commission recommending approval of the
<br />
<br />new Fire Zone Map, for the applications of the regulations included in the Uniform
<br />
<br />Building Code, 1955 Edition, and ame~--uts thereto, and the Fire Code as adopted
<br />by Ordinance No. 864, authorized in Article VIII, Section 8lO1 of the Municipal Cod~.
<br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, the matter was
<br />
<br />referred to the Attorney to prepare an Ordinance.

<br />The Council having unanimously waived the 'reading of the Resolution, on motiom of
<br />
<br />Councilman Markel, seconded by Hall and carried, the following Resolution entitled:

<br />On motion of Councilman Gould, seconded by Hubbard and carried, Tentative Map of
<br />Tract No. 3273, filed by Hugh M. Neighbour, Jr., on property located on the east
<br />side of Bristol Street just north of Santa Clara Avenue and consisting of five lots
<br />
<br />was approved subject to conditions of the Department of Public Norks.

<br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Markel and carried, proper officials
<br />were authorized to execute agreement with Brainard Construction Company, Inc.,
<br />covering collection for disposal of sewage, for a period of ten years, from any
<br />person connecting any house drain into sewerage facilities from property fronting
<br />on said facilities but not within Tract No. 1939, at the rate of $1.20 per front
<br />foot, as follows, to-wit: From the west end of Tract No. 1939 on the extension of
<br />West Orange Road to B~istol Street; and on Bristol Street from the extension of Wes'
<br />
<br />Orange Road to Memory Lane.
