Council Chamber <br />Santa Aha City Hall <br />August 5, 1957. ?:30 P.M. <br /> <br />city Council met in regular session. <br />Meeting called to orde~ by the Mayor. <br /> <br />Present: CoUncilmen Royal E. Hubbard, Stanley C. Gould, Jr., <br /> A. A. Hall, J. Ogden Markel, Dale H. Heinly <br />Absent: Councilmen. None <br />Salute to the Flag was~ given followed by invocation by Chaplain J,P.Forsander. <br />Each member of the City Council having received copies of the Minutes <br />of July 15, 1957, reading of the Minutes was dispensed with and approved <br />on motion of Councilman Gould, seconded by Hubbard and carried. <br /> <br />Hearing <br />Proposed Civil Service <br />Rules and Regulations <br /> <br />This being the date set for the continued hearing on the adoption of the proposed <br />Civil Service Rules and Regulations, Thomas F. Larsen, Chairman of the Personnel <br />Board, outlined the approval of the Board reference Section 2263 defining sics leave <br /> <br />and Section 2275 on outside employment of the employee. Attorney Robert Webb, <br /> <br />representing the City employees, agreed that the employee should make application <br /> <br />to the Department Head and Manager for permission to perform outside employment and <br /> <br />if the application is denied an appeal may be made to the Personnel Board. On <br /> <br />motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, the hearing was con- <br /> <br />Hearing <br />Weed assessments <br />Reso. No. 57-195 <br />Overruling Protests <br /> <br />tinued to August 19, 1957, at ?:30 P.M. <br /> <br />This being the date set for hearing on the weed assessments; no written or oral <br />protests were received. The Council having unanimously waived the readin~ of the <br />Resolution, on motion of Councilman Narkel, seconded by Gould and carried, the fol- <br /> <br />lowing Resolution entitled: <br /> <br />Hearing <br />"Mabury Annex No. 2" <br />Ordinance <br /> <br />"Resolution No. 57-195 overruling protests or objections to <br />report of Street Superintendent, approving report and ordering <br />a copy thereof filed with the Tax Collector" <br /> <br />was considered and passed by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes, Councilmen <br /> <br />Noe s, Councilmen <br />Absent, Councilmen <br /> <br />Royal E. Heinly <br />None <br />None <br /> <br />This being the date set for hearing_ protests on annexation to the City of certain <br /> <br />~uinhabited territory designated '~4abury Annex No. 2", and there being no protests, <br /> <br />on motion of Council m~u Hall, seconded by Markel and carried, the following 0rdinan~ <br /> <br />entitled: <br /> <br />"Ordinance declaring the annexation of that certain territory <br />designated 'Mabury Annex No. 2'" <br /> <br />was introduced, considered and placed on file for second reading. <br /> <br /> <br />
