Heinly <br /> Noes, Councilmen None <br /> Absent, Councilmen None <br /> <br /> On motion of Councilm,~ Hubbard, seconded by Markel and carried, the following <br /> Ordinance entitled: <br /> <br /> "Ordinance amending Section 3302 of the Uniform Building Code" <br /> <br /> was introduced, considered and placed on file for second reading. <br /> <br /> On motion of CouncJ ]m,~ Hubbard, seconded by Markel and carried, the communication <br /> from the Santa Aha Lodge No. 794 B.P.O.E. extending an invitation to the Council to <br /> attend a Final Naturalization Class which will be held at the Elk's Lodge on October <br /> 16th, 1957, was received and filed. <br /> <br /> On motion of Counc~]m~ Hall, seconded by Hubbard and carried, the request of <br /> Federated Construction Company for an extension of six months on billboard advertisi~ <br /> on Tract No. 1BT1 at the corner of Bristol and Myrtle Streets~ was granted. <br /> Communication was read from the Board of Education requesting the adoption of an <br /> enabling Ordinance in regard to the internal control of traffic on the Campus at <br /> the Santa Aha College. On motion of Councilman Markel, seconded by H-~ 1 and car- <br /> ried the matter was referred to the Manager and Attorney for the preparation of an <br /> Ordinance. <br /> <br /> Communication was read from the State of California, Military Department, Office of <br /> the Adjutant General requesting approval of Notice to cha~e the termination date of <br /> lease covering premises at 625 Cypress Street from September BOth to October 31st, <br /> 1957, and on motion of Councilman Markel, seconded by Gould and carried, the Mayor <br /> was authorized to execute the agproval of Notice. <br /> <br /> On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Markel and carried, the bond filed by <br /> Andrews Homes, Inc., Carl Hc~es, Inc., Center Homes, Inc., et al, in the sum of <br /> $53,600.00 and filed for the improvements in Tract No. 2~87 was ordered released <br /> and improvements accepted as completed. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, s~conded by Gould and carried, the resignation of <br />John Lindley as a member of the Personnel Board was accepted with regret and the <br />Manager instructed to write a letter to Mr. Lindley thanking him for his services <br />on the Board. <br /> <br />On motion of Counc~]m-u Markel, seconded by Hall and carried, Paul Eby was appointed! <br />as a member of the Personnel Hoard; term to expire July l, 1960. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, the cce~unication <br />from the Board of Supervisors was received and filed advising that Change Order No. <br />i in regard to contract for construction of Edinger Street from Center to Bristol <br />Streets, Oliver W. Scott & Sons Engineering Company, Contractor, was approved. <br /> <br />On motion of Counc~!~en Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, the c~mnunication <br />from the Board of Supervisors was received and filed advising that the request of th, <br />County Surveyor and Road Commissioner was granted to close Edinger Street to through <br />traffic between Bristol and Center Streets for three weeks, or until sufficient base <br />material has been placed to support traffic, to be effective immediately. <br /> <br /> <br />
