Hubbard, Stanley C. Gould, Jr., <br />A.A.Hall, J. Ogden Markel, Dale H. Heinly <br />None <br /> <br />The Pledge of Allegiance was given. <br /> <br />Invocation was given by Reverend Robert Mays of the Church of the Brethren. <br /> <br />Each member of the City Council having received copies of the Minutes of <br />October % and October 14, 1957~ reading of the Minutes was dispensed with <br />and approved on motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Hall and carried. <br /> <br />Overtime payment <br />to Police Officers <br /> <br />Council~n Gould stated that, Whereas, it has come to the attention of the City <br />Council that oert~in of the members of the Police Department have claimed certain <br />accumulated overtime hours and <br /> <br />Whereas, the City Council does hereby acquiesce in the present policy of the <br />Department in not permitting more than forty hours accumulated time off privilege <br />during service with the Depa~-~ment since January l, 1957, <br /> <br />Therefore, in order to clear the record of a~l questioned claims and to provide an <br />equitable and fair settlement of these claims for overtime and to compromise the <br />same, it was moved by Councilman Gould, seconded by Hubbard and carried, that all <br />overtime recorded as "compensatory time off" be paid in cash on or before November <br />15, 1957, to the officers presently on duty with the Department from August 20, 1951 <br />to date, at the rate of pay that the officer would have received for the hours when <br />worked; that the City Ma~ager be directed to pay the same, not to exceed <br />and that the funds necessary to accomplish this purpose be transferred from the <br />Unappropriated City Council Fund to the appropriate Police Fund or Funds. <br /> <br />Bid acceptance <br />Construct pavement <br />north side W. Ogden Markel <br /> Absent, Councilmen None <br /> <br />A tabulation of bids was presented by the Manager for the construction of pavement <br />on the north side of West First Street from Station 26587.66 to Station 32~6B.~5~ <br /> <br />west of Townsend Street, Specification C-21, as follows: <br /> <br />Sully-Miller Contracting Company: <br />of $5o0.oo. <br /> <br />Total $4,239.o5. <br /> <br />Certified check in the sum <br /> <br />R. J. Noble Company: Total $4,751.00. 10% bid bond. <br /> <br />Griffith Company: <br /> <br />Total $5,376.25. $600.00 bid bond. <br /> <br />On recommendation of the Manager and on motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by <br /> <br />Gould and carried, the bid of SullyrMiller Contracting Company, in the amount of <br /> <br />Bids - Construct pavement <br />etc on Wilshire from Bristol <br />to Olive and Russell from <br />Rosewood to Lowell <br /> <br />$4,239.05 was accepted and the other bids rejected. <br /> <br />On rec~maendation of the Manager and on motion of Councilman GOuld, seconded by <br />Markel and carried, action was continued until the next regular meeting on the award <br />of bid for the construction of pavement, curb and gutter, on uncompleted portions <br />of Wilshire Avenue from Bristol Street to Olive Street and Russell Avenue from <br /> <br />Rosewood Avenue to Lowell Street, Project C-22. <br /> <br /> <br />
