<br />On motion of Counc~lm, n Hall, seconded by Hubbard and carried, the application of
<br />the Seventh Day Adventist Church to solicit funds from Thanksgiving until Christmas
<br />was granted.
<br />
<br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Markel and carried, Councl]n~u A. A.
<br />N,]I was granted permission to leave the State frc~ December i to December 31,1957.
<br />On motion of Counc~lm~n Hubbard, seconded by Hall and carried, Mayor Dale H. Heinly
<br />was granted permission to leave the State fr~n November 20 to November 22, 1957,
<br />inclusive.
<br />
<br />Coanci~m~u Gould disqualified himself on the next motion. On recommendation of
<br />the Police Department and on motion of Councilmen Hubbard, seconded by Markel and
<br />carried, the application of John R Buesing to operate a private d6tective and
<br />patrol service, formerly operated by George Whitney, 920 South Main Street, was
<br />denied.
<br />
<br />On motion of Councilmau Hubbard, seconded by Hall and carried, the request of S.
<br />Thompson McNeal for a 35-foot driveway at the trailer park under construction at
<br />2901 West First Street, was granted.
<br />
<br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Markel and carried, Opinion No. 20~ of
<br />the City Attorney reference request of S. Thompson McNeal for an over-size driveway
<br />at 2901 West First Street, was received and filed.
<br />
<br />On recommendation of the Manager and on motion of Councilman Markel, seconded by
<br />Hubbard and carried, the agreement signed by Santa Aha Neon Company for permission
<br />to construct an electric sign at 1729 North Grand Avenue was ordered returned un-
<br />signed to the Neon Company for the reason that the sign would extend into ithe stree.

<br />On recommendation of the curb usage COmmittee and on motion of Councilman Hubbard,
<br />seconded by Markel and carried, the request of MacFarlane Electric for a "No Parki~
<br />zone in front of their plant at 2701 Halladay Street, was denied.

<br />The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of
<br />Councl]man Hubbard, seconded by Hall and carried, the following Resolution entitle~
<br />
<br /> "Resolution No. 57-287 concerning parking limitations and curb
<br /> markings in accordance therewith"
<br />
<br />establishing a loading zone on the west side of Fruit Street between Minter Street
<br />and Mortimer Street, reference request of Schick Moving and Storage Company, was
<br />considered and passed by the following vote:
